My cousin was at a Hospital in Michigan and they refused to do a specific scan or procedure because he was showing signs of Covid. Was give two tests while there which came back negative. He had to hunger strike for 2 days before they would cooperate. Turns out it was his gallbladder (which he diagnosed himself) and almost died due to their stubbornness.

I agree incompetence plays a part. But according to my friend who is a Nurse she is told to treat every initial patient as if they have Covid, when they show symptoms (which are endless now). I think It really shifts the spectrum of correct medical diagnoses.
