I moved to a small town to raise my sons because I experienced beat downs with multiple people. Swore my boys were not going to live with the torture I had in school. I learned to fight started carrying a knife to school. But by 16 left school. Eventually finished my education only after getting my family half raised. My boys instead experienced being poor in a farming community. But for that they didn't get the beat downs. Grew up in to strong hardworking young men. Good fathers and would be kind to most people regardless of color unless the person was not deserving. They never understood why I moved them the way I did. I tried to explain but they never lived it. Some of those teenagers beating up other teenagers hit too close to home how bad it was. That was in the 70's. Now I see this shit coming back. Now I am a grandmother teaching my grandchildren how to survive. But back when I was kid it was rare you would get killed. Now it's common place. WTF do you do?
