I evened you to zero with an upvote. You were incorrect. It’s 223/556 or 300 most likely. Everyone saying 556 is assuming 556 because it’s an AR. They are likely right. But this kid seems pretty well practiced and i wouldn’t be surprised if he had a .300.

I feel like getting really pedantic over 8 thousandths of an inch right now.

It definitely appears to be an AR-15, but (as you said) probably impossible to know the caliber without actually getting hands on with the gun. I was unaware until today that 5.56 could cause wounds that devastating.

I was considering building something like a 300 blk AR15 pistol, but if 556 does that, there's apparently no need to.

The whole point of .300 is to run a suppressor and still hit reasonably hard. Subsonic .300 is Hollywood level quiet with a good can.

5.56 can be quite nasty indeed, reference this guy's arm.

I didn't know that, maybe I do need a .300 now. I am planning on going through the process to get a silencer.

No reason not to do both. Even if just a second upper if not a whole rifle.
