If only there was a group of uniformed law enforcement officers certified and trained by the local government, consisting of members who live in or near the area of enforcement so that not only would they be working for a paycheck and other benefits, but would have a vested interest in proper and fair law enforcement due to wanting to live in a peaceful law abiding town or city. Oh well.
Local governments and communities have what is called police power to legislate and regulate their own communities within the bounds of the US Constitution.
The Constitution is the framework of the nation. Local governments (i.e. cities, towns, etc.) are within the nation but regulate themselves within the bounds of what is allowed by the Constitution, and the laws and constitutions of their individual states.
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
Your state and local governments have far more power than the national government. Despite this broader power, your local government is less likely to abuse it on the theory that your mayor and other local elected bodies are your neighbors, thus such rule is the best reflection of the will of the collective local community.
Imagine not understanding the States are what hold most of the power, the federal government designed to be very limited, and anything outside the designated purpose written for them through the constitution, remains for the people/states.
Imagine not understanding the individuals are what hold all of the power, the federal government designed to be very limited, but only limits the individual and anything outside the designated purpose written by them, remains for the federal government.
Your local police force is paid by your local government. This is about as close as you can get to organized, standardized civilian force under rule of law. Mileage varies depending on the size of your locality (city vs town).
That police force in Kenosha which is standing down? That IS your informed armed citizens. They simply don't care.
Look at my upvotes. But you just keep imagining you're making a successful argument.
'Nuff said. Hey, you can LARP as a constitutional scholar if you want. WE are the informed, armed citizens. Not the pension-protecting thin, blue line. What a spurious load of hogwash, lol.
In my time in law enforcement the main problem is Politicians. I know that sounds stupid. But its the Politicians that write the laws, and its Politicians that rely on Traffic and parking summonses as added tax revenue for the budget. These are the same politicians that say the laws are racist and its the politicians that encourage over enforcement of minor crimes and the death of discretion. As for Cops who are dirty, fuck em.
I know, pede. Unfortunately, it is supposedly exactly what we asked for. Our system is set up to attract the powerful and psychotic into positions of trust. If we want stability, unfortunately this is the path we are on for now. Did you see this 17 year old operator? He can be on my fire team.
Actually, it's just a simple game of survival. You let the criminals kill each other. Public should just be armed to defend themselves and their property.
Actually, The Tree of Liberty grows in seasons. It cycles. We may tread back and find this is exactly what we need to regain our country. Then simply privatize policing, as it should be anyways.
I'm thinking after the inauguration day in January 2021. At that time, if the Democrats, Media, BLM/Antifa, Academia and the rest don't stand down, we start planning for what to do when spring comes around. When and IF, and it's still an if, the other side stands down or continues this unrest. Find your education pods now.
I'm saying this, and it has nothing to do with policing or privatization, if there's going to be a real confrontation for the soul of this nation, it's going to depend on whether or not Democrats accept Trumps victory in 2020 and he gets inaugurated in January. If he wins and is inaugurated, fine, all is well. If Democrats try to stop Trump from being president for a second term after he wins, well, that's different.
did skateboard guy get a shot to the chest? I saw him go down and then he just laid there. what an idiot. friend: dude we are going rioting, let's go!!!!
idiot: hold on lemme grab my skateboard.....
Antifa/BLM has been using skateboards as weapons for a while now. They are used as an edged club that can be carried around anywhere without attracting police. Getting hit with the edge of a skateboard can really do some damage.
they are trying to portray this kid as an active shooter and the skateboard guy as a hero. Now, people were yelling "he just shot people" and it may have looked like an active shooter situation to skateboard guy. The whole situation is a mess. This is why these situations should not be left to grow with police stand down orders.
From what I can tell the shooter has some level of reasonable fear for his own safety, he was fleeing an attempted assault and he shoots someone in what looks like self defense when the person caught up. He doubles back to check on the person he shot and appears to be calling the police (or someone, for his sake I hope it was the police). He then fears for his life again, and retreats a second time. While retreating he falls and is assaulted by an angry mob acting in concert. He then shoots someone who is assaulting him with a skateboard and is trying to take his weapon and shoots another person confronting him with a pistol. These people might be in mistake of fact thinking he was a fleeing felon or an active shooter, but that does not negate his right to self defense.
He then tries to surrender to police and is ignored. He ultimatley "flees the state" to his home less than 12 miles away where he is arrested.
exactly - I am conceding, however, that skater dude may have had pure motives in "stoping an active shooter" based on his perception of the facts, but that still does not in any way mitigate the shooter's rights to defend against an assault. The kid was there to defend property he was exercising a right, more so than the people who were rioting. I have watched every bit of video, and to me he was justified in each moment. Unfortunately, the political environment demands he be charged. A competent defense can easily prevail here. First, only a preponderance of the evidence is required to offer up the affirmative defense of self defense. This evidence objectively exists. Secondly, the state must then prove beyond a reasonable doubt that his affirmative defense is not valid. So, thankfully, the law and the evidence is on his side.
The problem with community policing is it tends to function on the emotion of the moment. After seeing the videos and statements regarding this event I would certainly say the kid has the right idea (defending a population from a violent assault) but the situation needed more organization, training and support. More often though, "community policing" quickly turns into warlords that also attack the population they claim to defend (CHAZ/CHOP).
sensationalized pop news. When I think of community policing, I immediately think of neighborhood watch signs and the only man outside is washing all his family vehicles. It has more pressence than local police and your neighbors are less likely to shoot each other than the extra baggage that tends to come with local police departments. During my autonomous zone days, no one attacked anybody. The only warlord was me and I carried a weapon less because of it.
That works IF there is a deterrent to back up a neighborhood watch. If there is nobody to report to and no actual response then a neighborhood watch is nothing more than organized witnesses crying to the sky. It will still give a semblance of success if no actual threat materializes.
The problem is how to respond to crime, particularly violent crime, when no other deterrent exists. As all of history shows, the only response left is to meet force with force. That then (hopefully) creates a new deterrent. More often than not that new deterrent becomes the new problem.
Pantifa in the back with a melee weapon was almost a casualty. You can see him charging rifle-kid right before the shots are fired, and he smartly decides to stop advancing .... unlike some of the other dumbasses.
He first shot a guy in the head at close range, yet the wound looks pretty clean. Then he shot another guy in the arm and it blew up half of his forearm. How does it work?
not a ballistics expert but i think the headshot being a small wound is the result of lack of flesh. The skull is very close to the surface so there is less opportunity for the bullet to cause cavitation, whereas in the soft tissue of the bicep, it essentially is like a bowl of pudding that explodes.
I think the tipping point was when the locals saw the old man getting hit over the head with a bat they said enough is enough. A smaller city, where a lot of people know each other, will reach the tipping point a lot sooner than a big city.
He was right to defend himself but I will wait till more info comes out as to why he talking about his support for the riots taking place in front of him.
I personally see this as two groups on the same side fighting each other.
Oh well.
Screw that.
Nothing Constitutional about that.
But a citizen militia, now...
Local government officers stated.
Quotes Constitution.
You're not wrong, but are out of context.
We also have the ability to overthrow our government, what is your point?
A local police force is constitutional
Show me where it is expressed.
10th Amendment
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
Your state and local governments have far more power than the national government. Despite this broader power, your local government is less likely to abuse it on the theory that your mayor and other local elected bodies are your neighbors, thus such rule is the best reflection of the will of the collective local community.
10th. Right on. Ultimately the individual is the most powerful over his own life. Not so today for most.
Pass. Maybe we should scrutinize police forces more than something that is actually expressed in the 2nd.
Gun laws violate that. They long ago n quit giving a shit about the law.
Next up, we have a short outtake from School House Rock on how a bill becomes law.
Ignorantia juris non excusat
Thanks for the civics lecture, dad.
I'm aware of all this. Not my point. It's the principle of the thing.
Dependence on paid-by-the-state goons, or
Dependence on informed, armed citizens
You're welcome.
Your local police force is paid by your local government. This is about as close as you can get to organized, standardized civilian force under rule of law. Mileage varies depending on the size of your locality (city vs town).
That police force in Kenosha which is standing down? That IS your informed armed citizens. They simply don't care.
Keep the AnCap boner in your pants.

Tree of liberty and all that.
Congrats. Go make your CHAZ or Waco.
Are you aware of what forum this is?
That is the last thing I would ever do. But nice strawman.
Downvotes are for pussies. Make an argument, grow a spine, take a stand.
Could try it for a few weeks? No strings attached?
We might have no choice but to try it for a few weeks
We never actually HAD a choice. 17 year old males capable of shooting ARE the militia.
Doughboys.
Look at the state of things now.
I honestly feel like militia would be more useful than police forces at this point
They'll inevitably encounter a criminal of 'protected class'! Hogwash I say. Just kill 'em all with fire and fury!
Until they stop upholding oaths, laws, etc. Then they are worse than the criminals. Who watches the watchmen?
In my time in law enforcement the main problem is Politicians. I know that sounds stupid. But its the Politicians that write the laws, and its Politicians that rely on Traffic and parking summonses as added tax revenue for the budget. These are the same politicians that say the laws are racist and its the politicians that encourage over enforcement of minor crimes and the death of discretion. As for Cops who are dirty, fuck em.

That accuracy while in motion and under stress? Fuck yes.
Tsk, tsk...where EVER do you boys come up with these ideas???
We could call these individual groups the "National Guard." Wouldn't that be spectacular!
I think we should defund that kind of thing.
Check out the guy in the black clothes with a bat in his hand. He just realized he only brought a bat to a gun fight.
Shame really. A bullet through the head might have enlightened him.
Went there a BLM supporter, left as a radical white supremacist. How the turns have tabled.
He was also sitting front row at a Trump rally in January so really who knows.
For real, y'all need to calm down with this shit.
I swear I saw your comment scratching its head. It's starting to get weird. He didn't sign up to be a commie blasting hero. He was chosen.
Pretty sure that's a different group.
Police protect criminals just as much as they protect the public
Wasn't aware they protect the public. Do you have a source for that?
Supringly no. Maybe you have a point. Vigilante justice certainly looks better and better as time goes on
Actually, it's just a simple game of survival. You let the criminals kill each other. Public should just be armed to defend themselves and their property.
Exactly. Community police don't have jails, but they do have rope.
Yes, this is community policing and soon, in about five months, the Democrats are going to find out why it was replaced by regular police forces.
Actually, The Tree of Liberty grows in seasons. It cycles. We may tread back and find this is exactly what we need to regain our country. Then simply privatize policing, as it should be anyways.
That may be true but wait five months.
Yeah, in five months it should be privatized by then, that is true.
Okay. I still have no idea what you are thinking.
I'm saying this, and it has nothing to do with policing or privatization, if there's going to be a real confrontation for the soul of this nation, it's going to depend on whether or not Democrats accept Trumps victory in 2020 and he gets inaugurated in January. What if the democrats win by stealing it like Trump is saying is going to happen?
did skateboard guy get a shot to the chest? I saw him go down and then he just laid there. what an idiot. friend: dude we are going rioting, let's go!!!! idiot: hold on lemme grab my skateboard.....
Antifa/BLM has been using skateboards as weapons for a while now. They are used as an edged club that can be carried around anywhere without attracting police. Getting hit with the edge of a skateboard can really do some damage.
the trucks of skateboards are usually metal. Like swinging a big cantilevered bike lock
A bike lock you say?
If only there were a college professor who could enlighten us on the peaceful use of such an object...
Saw a video from Kenosha with a dindo using one to pry open the trunk of a car he was looting.
Dindu*
Fixed spelling for ya 😅😅
All objects are to be considered weapons.
Anything with enough mass can be used as a blunt weapon.
I can use a nanocarbon needle to pierce anything without anyone's knowledge. It's true.
Humans can be shockingly fragile.
2 shots COM i think.
Yup chest shot. He died. He literally was over the dude on the ground attacking when he got shot though.
All this is set up to overshadows RNC.
Guy with the club was the only one that realizes he is overmatched
Fucking Commie antifag with angry cryeyes.
DOUBLE KILL
Remove police and this will be EVERYDAY and EVERYWHERE - leftist idiots dont understand what they are asking for.
The useful idiots don’t, but I think the real leftists do, unfortunately
This guy is at least level 10, y'all.
Oh goodness, I laughed at this. Greenshirt is one heck of a shot.
Who is the dead BLM terrorist on the ground? I would like to know more about him.
they are trying to portray this kid as an active shooter and the skateboard guy as a hero. No one is going to attack an "active shooter" with a skateboard.
Valid point. That is indeed what it looks like and why we eventually went with a police force.
So we can hire serial killers to get away with it for us?

Is there any video of this out of curiousity ?

Pantifa in the back with a melee weapon was almost a casualty. You can see him charging rifle-kid right before the shots are fired, and he smartly decides to stop advancing .... unlike some of the other dumbasses.
As a matter of fact.. this IS what community policing looks like. The commies should be thankful they have already achieved what they wanted

I just wish all of the rioters were shot like this.
I just wish all of the ______ were shot like this.
So community police = Mob/Militia Rule
Democracy = Mob rule. Militia = Constitutional rule.
This guy gets it
