And see the rest of the city burned?

The AG had to charge him, and let a jury make that decision.

That's false. It is absolutely the duty of the AG to decide. You do not bring charges against people unless you have the evidence to convince a jury beyond a reasonable doubt.

I believe this AG is a Dem...

Illinois, and the guy shot two lefties.

Oh, and charging free people for defending themselves is all the rage for lefty AG's.

You see how it feels when someone arrests you and tells you it’s for your own protection.

Self defense can absolutely stop a charge in my state. A determination is made by the DA, or by a grand jury. Not sure about wisconsin or federal rules. I hope the feds take the case out of the democrat DAs hands.

Soros Prosecutor (probably) charging high... hoping for a plea deal.

13
Hunterscrackbaby 13 points ago +14 / -1

pleas deal? Maybe.

My money is on just to get in the news cycle and further scare Americans from exercising 2A

Or leverage against whomever gave him the weapon. That guys probably get hit with a charge for providing a firearm to a minor.

3
559throw 3 points ago +3 / -0

Or hoping for him to be found not guilty cuz it's very clearly not 1st degree, then more riots when that happens

32
ColbyP 32 points ago +32 / -0

It was. But the self defense plea always comes after a lawyer has attempted to charge you with something. Otherwise there would be no reason for it as you'd have no charges to defend yourself against

Homicide detectives can consult with the DA and decide if it's self-defense. They don't have to charge him to determine if it's self-defense. Looks they're jumping to conclusions again and the only thing the kid will have to worry about is the gun charge.

7
ColbyP 7 points ago +7 / -0

They can, but that usually only happens if it's clear what happened. If there's any argument to be had, there's a good chance you'll have to argue it in court rather than have the charges be dropped.

Exactly, some cases are super obvious

Like guy breaks into your home and you shoot him, that’s pretty obvious on self defense

If there’s reasonable doubt in the moment I can understand arresting someone while you figure it out

It’s death, not petty property theft so it’s usually better to err on the side of public safety and keep a possible murderer off the streets until more info can come out

Neat. I don't know these things cause I've never shot anyone

11
ProphetOfKek 11 points ago +11 / -0

Evei 11 points ago +11 / -0

It was self defense, but we live in clown world where our laws are overseen by the Department of Banana Justice.
