I agree but what are they going to do in situations like this where the warrant is being issued by the DA? They're going to say, no we aren't executing the warrant? Not realistic.
Problem is that the DA charging the man with murder isn't unlawful. It is probably incompetence but it isn't unlawful. The state will simply not be able to prove in court that the man is guilty of murder.
This comes down more to voters needing to vote in DA's that are ethical instead of playing partisan politics.
I am ALL for Law Enforcement. However, if the police don't do the right thing, "just following orders" and NOT EXECUTE these clearly fucked up orders, then why even be in their corner to help keep them from being defunded. I think the precedence has already been made - see Nuremberg trials. Even the UCMJ has clauses for clearly objectional orders from superior officers.
Yup, I agree. It is a messed up situation overall. I agree that more LEO need to nut up and start pushing back. I already see some of it happening but there aren't enough doing it.
