So if I understand this correctly. The Militia originally didn't care what the rioters did, so long as they left businesses and residences alone. But the rioters weren't happy with that and decided to turn against the Militia guys?
It’s not that they didn’t care. After speaking with police they knew that the police station was the castle in this situation: the only thing that the police were allowed and obligated to defend. Hence they baited the trap.
But Antifa were following their own script and wanted to burn the town for practice

So a white adult who thinks its cool to yell out n**** in public was chasing and throwing things at a teenager, after previously threatening the teenager, and then gets shot after the teenager realizes he cannot outrun the violent racist who is chasing him with the intent of beating him or worse. And now the media is reporting that the kid is a white supremacist and the racist rioter was victimized at a peaceful protest. Sounds about right.
After watching this its kind of sad really. These misguided individuals out there thinking they are out changing the world for these problems that dont exist and end up being blinded by the big picture.
They don't think their actions have consequences and as a result end up in a bodybag. Maybe they could have actually done something positive in the world. Maybe.
