The NBA also has the most to lose once China's grip on the western markets starts to loosen up a bit, to the point in which any sort of severing of ties would bankrupt them instantly. Salary-wise they have by far the biggest of all of the leagues right now (you're lucky to see hockey players make more than $5m a year compared to the $40m+ lebron makes), with many of them having zero wiggle-room for buyouts.

A shooting is not a reason to forfeit a game, under any circumstances. When you're paid to do a job, you don't get to stop doing it because of some emotional event. Heck, when 9/11 happened I know a few things closed, and some employers were nice enough to give employees the option to go home if they wanted, but certainly not everything closed.
If the commissioner has balls, he should award Orlando the series win by default, and sue the players' union for organizing an illegal strike.
