The amusing thing is that they're almost forced to double-down on this due to their business model being so reliant on china right now. If I remember correctly more than 85% of their salaries lack any sort of team buyout clause (so if they want to release a guy to save $, they'll almost always need the player's approval), and the average salary of NBA players is the highest of all north american sports. Also the NBA is pairing up with china for the promise/"potential" for more income later (that phrase "the untapped market" being commonplace). Quite a few of the organizations are putting themselves into decent amount of debt hoping that the promise (not guarantee) will fix everything, like Jack trading his entire farm for magic beans.
I mean they have basketball in china and it's way more popular there than the NBA by a wide margin (if I remember correctly even the NBA playoffs only get like 20,000 views there). Much like many western companies, especially the esports ones, they overestimated their importance and took huge gambles because of it. It's like they received an envelope in the mail telling them they can win $100b if they send their life savings and social security numbers, and instead of questioning if it was potentially a scam or not went all-in out of greed.

They should move the entire league to China. Black players would quickly be exposed to real racism directed towards them.

What’s wrong with that trade?
