Told me we don’t need weapons here because...small town. He also said if Biden wins, first thing he’s going to do is forcefully confiscate all weapons.

As someone that lives in a small town. I would suggest own a gun. Own 3 guns. And make sure you have ammo. My local police response time is probably 5-10 mins. If they are not on another call. If county or state need to come out im looking at 20-45 mins. Being in these areas you need to think about how long it could take for help to arrive. We have crime just like a city bad people look for soft targets all over the place.
