I used to think that way until I was diagnosed with adhd as an adult. I have a hyperactive mind so I was always given meds for anxiety which rarely helped. I thought that I would have to just live with it for the rest of my life. Now, Adderral has changed my life for the better. I’m not anxious anymore, it actually has a very calming effect on me, and I can take a nap if I want any time after taking it.

I can now be in the present and enjoy the small things and engage effectively with others.

It’s so much less cumbersome now to be productive, since my subconscious is not thinking about the next thing while I’m doing something. This goes for everything, wether it’s going on a walk, working, having sex, or whatever. Anxiety meds made me emotionally numb and sweaty...good riddance.

Is adhd overdiagnosed? Hell yes. And many people sure do abuse it. BUT there are many with a legitimate need for the drug.
