I think this is it: 17 y/o goes out to the riots to help protect property and people. As an EMT he offers to help injured rioters earlier in the evening. Later on he's attacked and rushed and manages to shoot his attacker, a rioter, just in time. He initially assesses, looking to offer possible medical assistance, then is rushed again by multiple attackers and shoots 2 of them, again at very close range and just in time. Of the three he shot, 2 are dead.
