This evening's festivities include speakers live at the RNC in Charlotte, NC and from other locations throughout the US.

More than anywhere on the planet. But universities and Hollywood don't agree...
It's literally the 100th year anniversary of the 19th amendment so I think it's kinda cool it's recognized.

Lol my husband always jokes that as soon as we got the right to vote, we pushed for prohibition. Terrible idea. hahahaha.
Yes that is not coincidental. The temperance movement was almost all women. And sponsored by the Progressives of the day.
Well I would not have supported that of my fellow women.
TBH I can sympathize with the temperance movement on several levels. Things were bad. But they took the wrong turn, legislatively. And also, it was really a trojan horse. The saloon owners had a lot of political power and were mostly Republican. That was the real reason for the movement - to break their backs, politically. And it largely succeeded.
There was also an anti-German element. Germans were overrepresented among saloon owners and brewers. Your typical Dem/Prog bigotry.
