My family (wife and 4 children ages 4-8) flew on SouthWest recently. We had masks for everyone and asked all of them to wear masks so we wouldn't get kicked out of the airport or plane.
About 10 minutes before the plane takes off, a stewardess starts yelling at me. My son had pulled his mask down so his nose was sticking out. She brought the pilot and another stewardess over to us in one of those 3 against 1 kind of deals and they threatened to turn the plane around and kick us out if my 4 year old son pulled his mask down below his nose again.
I didn't really say anything. Just nodded.
An hour later in flight, they pass snacks around and everyone on the plane pulls their masks down to eat and drink. What kind of clown world is this?
I'm so pissed. It was the first time my family flew, too. I thought this must have been an isolated incident. Looked around and saw the story about the 2 year old autistic kid and his mother that got kicked off of the plane. That was another SouthWest nightmare. Easy enough, I thought, just don't fly with them. Now Delta is making the rounds for harassing people.
Is there a single airline that isn't totally compromised or are they all this bad? Hell, I'd pay 2x the ticket price for an airline that isn't insane.
Flew on American Airlines last week. They said they would ban people who didn't comply with mask rules from future flights.
They also didn't provide service on the flight. You had to push the call button and ask for a drink. Fortunately they let us know at the gate about 30 minute before boarding so people could get something to snack on.
The flight was jammed, too.
