If adults will not take up the sword, the children must fight for their future.
We should be ashamed that this young man was forced to become the tip of the spear.
Wisconsin law allows youth 14-17 to possess firearms without an adult if they've taken a Hunter Safety class. That is a different context, but for those getting hung up on this technicality, it's an interesting thought.
That also does NOT mean an IL resident, bringing a firearm into the state would have that right OR that he took a class, but it's not really that outlandish.
Still, I'd take a misdemeanor weapons charge as a minor over this homicide charge any day. I can't imagine the self defense argument will be nulified by a misdemeanor weapons issue.
Not trying to be negative, but serious question is a 17 year old allowed to carry?
In many jurisdictions, people under 18 can carry rifles or shotguns, not pistols
I hope it was legal. They'll try to pull what ever they can.

Scary thought. I hope people are willing to defend themselves and their homes.
Spot on! We must defend and support those that will take on the weight of such a mantle.
