I fully support this message. When I was shopping a couple months ago hard plates were sold out and in long back order. I got a couple bullet safe vests with the ceramic inserts. Armor up.
Not trying to be mobile? No doubt. Thick enough steel and you can make your own plates and shields. Just look up trauma pads and the reason for them. Ar 500 tells you the type of metal they use if you're handy and have tools.
Hrm. I don't use vests, chiefly because of the bulk. Also, not in a war zone (America becoming as dangerous as AfPak is ridiculous), so never thought about it.
