Going to Utah to stay with some Mormon friends and then Galveston is my first stop currently. I have 4 months to kill so if you have any ideas I'll go explore. I need to finish my degree, so itd need to be near a decent college, preferably not somewhere insanely hot.

Arizona is good. That "insanely hot" is only an issue for a quarter of the year. We got the best gun laws though. Just wear oven mitts at the range in the summer.
