The problem isn’t their congressional salaries, it’s the money they collect from lobbyists on the side. A better solution to stop corruption, would be to make it illegal for members of Congress to collect any other income besides their salaries, as long as they’re in office. That’d stop them from running more than once or twice too.
It already is illegal. The problem is the lobbyists give money to the politicians favorite charity or give jobs to a favorite cousin or son for extremely over paid rates and the money then gets donated under the cousins name to the politicians campaign.
