I think attempted murder is a stretch, unfortunately, as there would be too much reasonable doubt about 'intent to kill'. Had he fired his illegally-held handgun, it would have been a clear attempt. He's still on the hook for a grab bag of charges, though:

• Possession of firearm by felon (felony G)
• Unlawful assembly (misdemeanor A)
• Disorderly conduct/endangering safety w/ a deadly weapon (brandishing- misdemeanor A)

I'm holding out faint hope for a felony murder charge, though- the group that is now missing 2.1 members seemed to be organised with the purpose of committing felonies (in particular, arson, aggravated battery and burglary), and so Lefty is on the hook for the the pederast's leaking skull and the soyboy's exploded heart.
