We've never had a truly "free" media that only cares about the truth and only the truth. Why because there's no profit in it. In the past it was much more subtle and not as in your face as it is now. They're all slanted and all propaganda outlets for profit and control. When TV was invented the Government and media just about came on themselves seeing the potential of mass control through a visual medium.
