The NRA cherry picks the topics it wants to get involved in. This is crunch time, and they are glaringly silent.

Yup, what's the point of the NRA if they stay silent during these situations.

You can contact the NRA at https://www.nraila.org/contact-nra-ila/ and tell them they should support Kyle Rittenhouse.

Problem is that NRA is all for legal gun ownership, and Kyle is problematic in that sense in that he legally shouldn't have had the gun.

What Kyle needs is a good lawyer, as apart from the gun possession, it is inarguable that he was defending himself, which is a absolute defense, and it was inarguably overcharged.

not true. I know you're talking about open carry age requirement. there is an exception for most rifles in WI law.

Legally should not have had a gun????? Uh.....what planet are you on?

Isn’t it illegal in Wisconsin to possess a firearm if you are under 18?

Please correct me if I’m wrong.

"Under Wisconsin open carry laws, 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse was legally allowed to have a firearm at Kenosha protest" - John Monroe, a lawyer who specializes in gun rights cases.

Kyle definitely legally should have a gun. Schools used to have gun clubs. The government used to give kids ammo. Kids used to go hunting and take their guns to school in the morning. You could buy a gun mail order.

Open carry for minors varies from state to state and should be legal in every state. That's a chicken shit excuse for the NRA to stay silent.

I get that they cherry pick...but I mean this? This appeals DIRECTLY to their base, and has so much footage of the actual event that they should be ALL OVER THIS!

It is 1) Open and shut self-defense 2) A good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun 3) a gun owner with no priors vs three guys with long rapsheets 4) a really good case that "assault" rifles are not the weapons of mass destruction and are not indiscriminate tools of the murder hobo.

The NRA is a political tool. Don't be blind to that. They like to strut and shit talk with the best of them, but considering that they are in their own little shit storm right now they are going to stay far far away from a racially charged situation like this. Kyle may not have killed a black guy, but it was because of the cop related shooting of a black guy.

Trust me. The NRA won't go anywhere near it. They will bank on their base not being upset about it, because they are cocky.

Isn’t that a problem? What’s the point of having an organization that only stands up when it is politically convenient?

We only need their help when the times are tough. Otherwise why do they exist?

You are talking about what they pretend to be and what they want everyone to think they are.

The reality is that they are a political tool.

I know about the sex offender but do you have links to the other two and their priors?

Agreed. If they do nothing, they get nothing from me.

The NRA started as an industry lobbyist organization that pivoted to "gun rights." Not surprising in the slightest.

Outside the fact it's LaPierre's personal slush fund, of course.

PraiseBeToScience 2 points ago +2 / -0

And that's why they're collapsing as an organization. That and everyone on the board is just looting the place before it falls apart.

Ask yourself why they haven't thrown LaPierre out and the answer is because they're all stealing.
