It did look like fire from one angle, but I think it may have been due to a reflection. It really doesn't matter. It's clear the rioters had one aim and that was to assault kyle, take his rifle, and murder him with it. His reactions to this are the very definition of self-defense.
It was most likely a rock in a bag, used kind of like a sling. Still a deadly weapon, but I don't think it was a molotov.
It was definitely on fire, whatever it was.

Yeah it was. I watched a video yesterday that showed the guy pursuing Kyle throw something at him, and it was clearly on fire.

Yeah. No it isn't
I don't think it was. I think it was a plastic bag illuminated by street lights and trailing the brick that looked like fire.
You can see a picture of it on the ground later where it's clearly a plastic bag.
