That is not the issue. I utilized the fuck out of nearly every weapon (because they all sounded sick)--
Doom Eternal is nothing but running in circles praying for your cooldowns to recharge so you can have a chance at getting enough ammo to finish the encounter. It is the antithesis of fun. The complete removal of ammo eviscerates any semblance of fun because you are always waiting for your chainsaw to recharge, and it fucking sucks.
Even your melee (the only version of it that is worth a fuck) is a cooldown.
...I never had a cool down issue during Eternal. Just so I am clear...the issue wasnt the Super Shotty, the gameplay loop allowed you to comfortably use only the weapons you wanted to just about all the time (Siege cannon and SS to be the most popular, along with sentry turret on the minigun).
Eternal changed the formula to make you think on your feet. Also, Doom 2016 didnt even have the blood AOE punch, thats completely new. The removal of ammo made you play with more foresight. No ammo? Chainsaw (hence why gas for it regens now). Need health? Melee. Armor? Flamethrower. Its more a ballet of hyperfast death while jumping around an arena murder porning everything.
Melee in Doom 2016 was garbage also...except for the glory kills. It didnt change during the jump from 2016 to Eternal. You can still Glory kill pinata the shit out of everything.
Again, you dont have to like it. I personally LOVED the change. My first playthrough I jumped right into Nightmare...holy shit that was hard as fuck. I had to get to grips with the new systems fast and when I did, it became that ballet (with lots of reloads...I died so fucking much).

It's one of those things that you just have to play to get it. It doesn't just throw you around, you have grapple and you can run on walls but only for a few steps, etc. It all works together to let you do some interesting things, but guys like this that just have an intuitive understanding of it can dome really insane things.
It's not just another FPS. The movement is the central mechanism of the game and the maps are designed around it.
They also cut the trailer length in half and while it's now almost purely Yuri, you barely have time to process what he's saying since they cut out a lot of the descriptions about the 4 phases.
I like to believe that the original trailer was someone based on the inside risking their job for the chance to redpill the masses.

I've enjoyed all of the Treyarch Call of Duty games except for Black Ops 4, which I never played. They gave us Call of Duty: World at War which was great, as well as the Black Ops series.
I mainly play COD for the single player campaigns. They're short, but very fun. When I heard BO4 was going multiplayer-only I decided to give it a pass.
BO4 was good, then a couple months after release they “re-balanced” everything and changed the whole dynamic of the game to appease the screeching noobs.
The original Call of Duty: Black Ops had my favorite single player campaign of any COD game. I loved the gritty Cold War thriller setting as well as the characters. Black Ops Cold War is going to be a direct sequel to it. So yep, I'm looking forward to this one.
The official game description outright states that it's a direct sequel to the original Black Ops. It's not a soft reboot of the franchise like Modern Warfare 2019 was.
I just like how arcadey COD is. Fast paced, quick matches and even someone like me who has a life and can't spend 20 hours or more a week gitting gud can jump on and pubstomp.
It's a strategy game as much as it is a shooter. If you don't understand the optimal ways to play it and are just trying to aim at people quicker than they aim at you, you're probably not gonna have a great time.
The best shooter experience imo is Killing Floor 2. It's not PvP but the gunplay is unmatched.

It's the best kind of learning curve, man. You can get to 90% in a matter of a few hours, but to get to 100% takes years and it is very evident when someone is great.

It's him using the movement system to yeet himself around the map, and it's not easy to do this well.
i guess i domino understand because i expect the movement in a FPS to be somewhat realistic - so I am not sure why being able to jump between building or float through the air is considered awesome.
It's one of those things that you just have to play to get it. It doesn't just throw you around, you have grapple and you can run on walls but only for a few steps, etc. It all works together to let you do some interesting things, but guys like this that just have an intuitive understanding of it can dome really insane things.
It's not just another FPS. The movement is the central mechanism of the game and the maps are designed around it.

They also cut the trailer length in half and while it's now almost purely Yuri, you barely have time to process what he's saying since they cut out a lot of the descriptions about the 4 phases.

Because Treyarch, were the developers, which apparently is not the same team that did MW2. Perhaps Treyarch is more based than we realized? I'm sure it was Activision's PR company that changed the trailer for China.
I've enjoyed all of the Treyarch Call of Duty games except for Black Ops 4, which I never played. They gave us Call of Duty: World at War which was great, as well as the Black Ops series.
I enjoyed BO4, but I'm on the rarer side when it comes to the community.
I mainly play COD for the single player campaigns. They're short, but very fun. When I heard BO4 was going multiplayer-only I decided to give it a pass.
BO4 was good, then a couple months after release they “re-balanced” everything and changed the whole dynamic of the game to appease the screeching noobs.
Was unplayable after that.
The original Call of Duty: Black Ops had my favorite single player campaign of any COD game. I loved the gritty Cold War thriller setting as well as the characters. Black Ops Cold War is going to be a direct sequel to it. So yep, I'm looking forward to this one.
Look out for women warriors. Its pretty much required to have then in games now regardless of believability.
And tv/movies. That iron first show on netflix had a 80lb asian chick beating up 220lb men.

I just like how arcadey COD is. Fast paced, quick matches and even someone like me who has a life and can't spend 20 hours or more a week gitting gud can jump on and pubstomp.
It's a strategy game as much as it is a shooter. If you don't understand the optimal ways to play it and are just trying to aim at people quicker than they aim at you, you're probably not gonna have a great time.
The best shooter experience imo is Killing Floor 2. It's not PvP but the gunplay is unmatched.

The only two CoD games I've ever bought were CoD4 and the original Black Ops. Beyond that I feel like every CoD game is the same and they get boring after a month. It amazes me that they can crap out a new game every year or two and people still eat it up.
