Yeah, Titanfall 2 has one of the best single player stories in videogame history. Never thought I would get emotional about a robot sidekick, but damn they hooked me!
i went to buy 2016. Accidentally bought Eternal. Didn't even know a second one had come out. Eternal was fucking amazing. Went to look at 2016 again after beating Eternal, and it just did not look nearly as fun/challenging.
I will respect your opinion. However Doom Eternal is God damn amazing. I liked the change in flow, less ammo, more thinking on your feet with how to deal with enemies, have to learn the weapons instead of sticking to Siege Cannon/Super Shotty meta from 2016 (which is still a damn good game).
Everyone thinks the issues with Doom Eternal are super shotgun related-- I've seen this at least a half a dozen times on Reddit.
That is not the issue. I utilized the fuck out of nearly every weapon (because they all sounded sick)--
Doom Eternal is nothing but running in circles praying for your cooldowns to recharge so you can have a chance at getting enough ammo to finish the encounter. It is the antithesis of fun. The complete removal of ammo eviscerates any semblance of fun because you are always waiting for your chainsaw to recharge, and it fucking sucks.
Even your melee (the only version of it that is worth a fuck) is a cooldown.
It’s a brainless game. It feels like a never ending slayers match. The plot is dumb too. Hell priest? Who the fuck is that? What happened to everyone in doom 2016?
2016 was so good I finished it in two sittings. I played about 40% of the way through eternal and could not force myself to pick up the controller. I knew I was just going to get mad, and it wouldn’t get any better.
It's the best kind of learning curve, man. You can get to 90% in a matter of a few hours, but to get to 100% takes years and it is very evident when someone is great.
This. Titanfall 2 is the greatest game to come out in the past decade.
Thank you russianbot :P
Seriously, if you play you should get on the /r/titanfall network, it's a fun bunch.
Love Titanfall 2! Actually my favorite FPS game, bar none.
Multi player was great... but the story was amazing. I'm gonna need a tf3 or dead space 4 from these guys

They really did, it was like iron giant all over again!
Dead Space was Visceral. And that dev has been done for a while. A next gen dead space like the second one would be hype
Then they made Apex Legends and cucked out and had Black Lives Matter banner for weeks
Doom eternal is the most disappointing game of the year.
I wanted more Doom 2016, and instead I got a cooldown manager with a dope soundtrack.

You missed out.

I agree with this assessment.

Never played this but keep seeing it mentioned. How steep is the learning curve?

Not steep at all. It's so worth playing.
At first you're just jumping around
then you're flying across the map ninja-kicking people in the face
