No way, man, it's not explosive enough. It can't be, you're fighting too much resistance.
EDIT: It's still phenomenal and will get you jacked, but you're not going to have the explosive force you develop from sprinting. You will absolutely outlast a sprinter, though, so train for your correct sport.
No way is it deadlifts. The weight is hanging. You might be able to convince me that power cleans or snatches beat it, but it's going to be hard.
No way squats beat it. Your upper body is only involved in carrying and stabilization, not in motion. It's great for your core and posterior chain, but your pecs and delts and arms are never going to get jacked from just squats the way they can from sprinting.
With good form (and even with sloppy form, usually), your upper body is doing nearly as much work as your lower when sprinting. Just look at still shots of Olympic sprinters. There isn't a muscle in their body that isn't at maximum effort.
I might also be able to be convinced of high intensity boxing on a heavy bag.
Had my best running times in the military by just doing mad distance. No 60/120s or hill bullshit. Putting shoes on and running miles. Eventually the 7m/mile you need is your rest pace during a run.
Same here. I Lift and train every weekday morning and would toss in some weighted vest jogging or explosive box jumping. I could hike my 2ss off in the hills/heat of TX while carrying AR10 or .300blk while pig hunting. Thought I was all good for being 40+....... I played outfield in office softball and was gagging sprinting after line drives. Realized I needed to start doing sprints again. Started 10x60yd build ups on grass. Worked up to dozens of 40 yd all out sprints on grass. It is the best thing for my cardio endurance. No doubt.
heck yeah! I can honestly say once I started sprinting again it felt so good I had visions of doing it daily and ramping the sprinting up even more. Then the mornings after when I'd start lifting my body quickly reminded me I was not 16 and to find a good balance. I stick to grass sprinting as much as I can and that helps the joints a ton. Amazing how the first few all out sprints expose just how inflexible the hips can become as we age even if you are working out in the gym daily.
Does anyone know WHY he started running to begin with? Where was his buddies he was with? What happened before he ran? I hope this info comes to light.
From what I've heard (granted it's not confirmed), Kyle had gone to a car dealership and had been asking a rioter to stop destroying the cars. Then said rioter started chasing him and ended up getting shot while in between cars. Kyle called the police, etc.
Lefties keep doing 9 minutes of whatever to honor Floyd. We need to do 300 yard sprints as a "protest" and tell people "That's how far Kyle ran while being assaulted by terrorists before defending himself"
He put himself, at 17, free of charge, at great risk to his safety and his freedom, in the role meant for men several years his senior who would be backed by a union, lawyers, and the protections thereof.
He did this because the aforementioned men who take our tax dollars to be in that aforementioned role allowed the city they're sworn to protect to go up in flames, and allowed the citizenry to live in fear. They watched from a few football fields away as a 17 year old doing their job for them may just as easily have died at the hands of a violent mob of terrorists instead of taking 2 lives himself. Then they watched him run to them with his back to said violent mob of terrorists try to turn himself in.
I generally support the badge, but it's getting tiresome being in the sole group standing in defense of police that is also the only group being abandoned, or worse, harassed by them.
TL;DR
I wouldn't be so quick to discount the bravery of this young man. Anyone who valued their lives would have been at home in sweats watching a livestream as I, and millions of others did.
The entire leftist goal at this point is to accomplish this IMO They want a hot war to cover as China advances it's foreign policy goals and the other 5-eyes nations clamp down more on their own citizens.
Everyone keeps talking about their line in the sand as to where they stand up to tyranny. Troublesome thing about sand is the smallest of waves or faintest of breezes can remove the declarations written on it. People need to start carving their line into stone.
Everything is calm until its their own family affected. We are too affluent to do anything en mass proactively. America is funny, you literally have to wake the sleeping bear then its over for at least a generation or two.
You want the answer where my personal un-crossable, no bullshit line is? When the violence is at my door. Be it Antifa, be it police, be it military. The days of God, country, family are gone. It is now God, family, country. Until someone is at my door to harm me or mine, I'll be mad about it on the internet like everyone else.
Infringe my 1st? Fine, I can't stop that myself without causing irreparable damage to the people I love. Infringe my 2nd by infringing my 4th? Fine, I lost all my revolutionary equipment in a boating accident, take what remains, my small collection of hi-points, my 19x, and an PSA economy build.
Kyle is 17, he is young enough that he likely doesn't have much to lose in this deal. His wife and kid won't get dragged through it because they do not yet exist, or now may never exist. He likely doesn't have a mortgage that will not get paid while he's not working and in custody, however long that takes. He likely isn't in a career that will terminate him regardless of a verdict at trial. Obviously, it's not a knock against him, it's a matter of age. He may as we speak, wish he would have stayed home and let Antifa terrorize a neighborhood that was not his own. He may already, understandably, regret his sacrifice. He has right-wing fame on the internet, but that's about it. He probably has the gratitude of those whose homes or businesses he saved, but gratitude doesn't take care of your family. We've seen fundraising efforts already squashed. Death threats against his family have already begun.
Really, don't get me wrong, he sacrificed plenty and I hope he is the catalyst needed for those on the right to stand and fight. I also hope it's the catalyst for people in the center to realize they need to shit or get off the pot. But my hopes don't align at all with my expectations. 2 commies dead, 1 injured. Good. Justice has been served. In a month, Kyle Rittenhouse will be another memory and his life will likely be in shambles with no political or cultural ground gained from it. The socialist, divisive, takeover will likely be further along. Celebrities, academia, and the media will continue to gaslight huge swathes of the public and we will continue to be anonymously outraged. I fear Trump may find all his efforts unable to solve the problem people continue to vote into existence with their wallets.
So there's my long answer to your question. If my previous posts have sounded self-righteous and judgemental of the selfishness of others, I apologize. I may be casting judgement, but I cast it also upon myself. I am as guilty of the self-righteous attitude I speak so contemptuously of. I'm as selfish and cowardly as all the others whose line is in the sand. The good thing about it being in the sand, however, is if I see enough brave people carve their hypothetical line in the hypothetical stone far enough in front of me, I can erase my temporary line and move it up, out and away rather than pulling it closer to my feet, thereby helping those already sacrificing to reclaim personal liberty. Reclaim the American dream and the values of this country. I can walk next to those braver than myself, such as Kyle, and make their line longer, and deeper, and wider until none that mean us harm may cross it.
Pardon the tone of this. I've been reading shit loads of addresses by Lincoln, Franklin, and Washington, as well as the Federalist papers. After writing this and lightly proofreading it, I appear to have tried my futile attempt at imitation.
I didn't say he wasn't brave. But bigger balls than 99% of the rest of America is a stretch. Yes...he is honorable in his cause and defended himself effectively.
I'm not a big fan of police and have actually been arrested at gunpoint myself, in my own house, for defending me and a family member. I know there are a lot of police out there doing the right thing but a bad chief or ranking officer can turn a department on it's head. I'm not a huge fan of police but them not sticking up for us taxpayers who do the right thing is beyond tiresome...to the point that if we have to defend ourselves and they try to arrest us for it then they will become the enemy. People better pick a side and get on it.
The Civil Rights division of the DOJ needs to get involved and bring charges against these prosecutors.
This a million times this. Tucker Carlson has been pointing this out for weeks and every night of the convention. Useless swamp breeder Bushie Barr has done nothing but protect the corrupt while letting citizens be beaten, murdered and illegally charged. He is no friend of ours or the President.
It's true, I noticed a lot of videos of rioters beating people, the rioters are skinny kids and the victims are chubby and out if shape. Cowards pick the easiest target, don't be an easy target.
They're all about outnumbering people. It's a specific tactic they talk about in the Project Veritas antifa video. Overwhelm individuals. If they don't have numbers on you they crumble. They're cowards.
Yeah this too, they go after people walking alone because it's easy. Don't walk alone in the city, if you see a group of them just leave. It's not worth trying to argue with them, if they knock you on the floor and start kicking you'll really wish you had left.
Fact-check: Liar Liar Pants On Fire..... Study shows Kyle ran only 2.3 football field lengths, and it wasn't on a football field, it was on the street. Studies also show that cardio does not occur until 20 minutes of exercise where your heart rate increases to 60% or more.
I also suggest you try running a short sprint then target practice. Shooting gets really hard when your heart starts cranking up. It’s a lot harder than you think.
Go swim fellas, life long swimmer here. The cardio boost you get without all the wear and tear on your joints is phenomenal.
Also BJJ is fantastic cardio and you learn to choke people, so a double win.
Lucky me, I just moved to a small beach town in SoCal (well maybe not so lucky then) but I've got lots of beaches and lots of BJJ - none of them are open right now from what I've seen.
Even better in terms of defending himself he really couldn't have done better. He only fired on people that present themselves as a threat to himself. He only missed the commie trying to jump on his head but he conducted himself pretty well.
If you have a gun get trained up in close quarters defense. Especially with a rifle. If you are planning to get a gun get something that can be used at close quarters.
I know I’m too old and fat to make a break for it. That’s why I stay low and keep firing and keep extra clips for extra shit, for whoever is next to flip that on this cat with my grip on my gat.
I have a concept 2 rowing machine, bought it during the lockdown and do hiit and 10k rows... endurance will make the difference when the shit hits the fan. Stay safe patriots 🙏
(Also edit since I'm getting roasted: Over TWO football fields. That was some bad 5AM no sleep math on my part)
Nowadays being a fat ex-military 2A guy (speaking from experience my self...) won't cut it.
Hit the gym, and don't neglect the cardio.
Sprint for a full 30 seconds, walk 1 min. Repeat 10 times.
Hill sprints are the #1 best full body exercise in existence
fite me
I’ll fite. Swimming if you do it properly.
No way, man, it's not explosive enough. It can't be, you're fighting too much resistance.
EDIT: It's still phenomenal and will get you jacked, but you're not going to have the explosive force you develop from sprinting. You will absolutely outlast a sprinter, though, so train for your correct sport.
Put up your dukes. The barbell squat wins that bout. Deadlifts win 2nd.
But yeah you should probably have some cardio in there. Zombieland, anyone? I believe thats rule #1. Make sure you limber up before too.
Dedlif numba wan
Running numba 10
No way is it deadlifts. The weight is hanging. You might be able to convince me that power cleans or snatches beat it, but it's going to be hard.

my vote is for lifting the atlas stone
Had my best running times in the military by just doing mad distance. No 60/120s or hill bullshit. Putting shoes on and running miles. Eventually the 7m/mile you need is your rest pace during a run.
Sounds painful. Will try

Maybe those 10 minute 1.5 miles WERE a good indicator of ability 🤔🤔🤔
There's a reason cardio was rule number one in that zombie movie from like ten years ago.
Or just accept your fate as the guy who lays down a base of fire which allows his teammates to escape or flank.
Also, brother's who got banged up, we need you too. I am one as well. Stay engaged.
Ran over 300 yards.. Under EXTREME stress.. Still made the shots...
Kyle is grade A biathalon material.
USA Ski Team needs to recruit this guy
Hes 17 full of semen lol
POTENT PEDE ROAMING THE REALM.
And being chased by people that want to kill him.
You'd be surprised how far adrenaline can take you in that situation.
I'm more impressed by his ability to get up and calmly walk to the police after it all went down.
And wearing cowboy boots and denim. Think about it.
IMPRESSIVE LENGTH
Does anyone know WHY he started running to begin with? Where was his buddies he was with? What happened before he ran? I hope this info comes to light.

Then this video should explain the rest of what's assumed to have happened. https://video.maga.host/videos/watch/a67db04b-a9ab-4e80-a336-2c89b3de4249
Per the New York Times (of all things) a shot was fired at or near him prior to the first incident:
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/27/us/kyle-rittenhouse-kenosha-shooting-video.html
Lefties keep doing 9 minutes of whatever to honor Floyd. We need to do 300 yard sprints as a "protest" and tell people "That's how far Kyle ran while being assaulted by terrorists before defending himself"
That's a pretty great idea, actually.
Ok...dude...I'm in. How do we set this up? How do we make that happen?
And afterwards, I can lie down gurgling like skater boy.
A yard is 3 feet soooo
Yea ... actually it would be 2 football fields.... but that's still a lot!
Shhhhh
Lol thank you
He a little confused but he got the spirit!
yeah, I caught that, but the spirit is so high here I didn't want to slow anyone down. But, yeah, 224 yard runs to honor him is a great idea.
Wow, that kid has more balls than 99% of America. He deserves our support.
I wouldn't go that far. He was put in an extraordinary situation. Anyone who valued their lives would do the same shit.
He put himself, at 17, free of charge, at great risk to his safety and his freedom, in the role meant for men several years his senior who would be backed by a union, lawyers, and the protections thereof.

My line is in the sand like everyone else's.

I suppose you need to find your stone. And draw a fucking line. Stop making excuses. Go be a one man militia. Be a hero since it's so easy.

What was it Dante said about the centrist?
"The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality"
https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/george_s_patton_143694
I'd better brush up on all the rest of the Zombieland rules too. Seems they may be useful sooner than expected.
Double tap!!
Apparently not necessary, lol
Stop ruining my joke
He was running toward the police. Trying to get away from the mob to safety.
Prosecutor charged him with fleeing to avoid prosecution.
This is a completely political prosecution that is designed to appease a violent mob that they had encouraged for the past three months.
BARR IS ASLEEP
A distance of 684 ft, or as it is known now - the "Kenosha Mile"
Haha I love it!
Finally a mile I can run without stopping
I will buy a t-shirt on which says
684->2.5
Beat me to it.
It's true, I noticed a lot of videos of rioters beating people, the rioters are skinny kids and the victims are chubby and out if shape. Cowards pick the easiest target, don't be an easy target.

That's adrenaline.
Podesta has entered the chat...
Well prepared militia is what the gov’t fears. See how quickly the governor responded?
Yeah...I’m not running. I’ll just make my stand.
I’ve found that when you start piling up bodies the number of people running at you tends to decline.

(KEK)
Don't skip leg day bitches!
I go running 4 days a week specifically to train for when shit hits the fan.
Inspiring me to get in shape. I'm too fat and lazy. Drink too much beer. Time for change.
Same here. Only cardio I get is when I help on the farm, and that's pretty well limited to a month in Spring and a month in Fall. It's a small farm.
2 football fields**
Rule number one...
I look at those google pictures and think: Damn those roads look like they could use some maintenance.
Seeing this post was a real wake up call... Thank you op
Rule #1 of Commieland folks.
Cardio.
Such a good point. Patriots should be hitting the ranges and gyms regularly. Fitness will be needed to suppress and obliterate the dirty commies.
The NRA concealed carry / shooters insurance isn't even that good either.
I also suggest you try running a short sprint then target practice. Shooting gets really hard when your heart starts cranking up. It’s a lot harder than you think.
5x5 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. HIIT cardio on in between days. Sunday is rest.
Drop the carbs. Stop being fat immediately.
Cardio is rule #1.
Go swim fellas, life long swimmer here. The cardio boost you get without all the wear and tear on your joints is phenomenal. Also BJJ is fantastic cardio and you learn to choke people, so a double win.

Zombieland was right!
A Zulu regiment can run, run, 50 miles and fight a battle at the end of it.
All of the rules from the movie Zombieland also apply to 2020.
Damn good point.
You know this actually is going to make me go do my cardio today.
Me too. This shits kinda a reality check.
He ran 2 football fields and some change.
Football fields are 300 feet. End zones arent part of the field. if they were a football field is 320 feet.
Yea I'm an idiot - I think I was doing this google earth searching around 5AM, so that's some no sleep math for ya.
Thanks,
Tad short of 2.5 football fields actually, but the point still stands, cardio and 2a saved this kid's life
I know I’m too old and fat to make a break for it. That’s why I stay low and keep firing and keep extra clips for extra shit, for whoever is next to flip that on this cat with my grip on my gat.
I have medical issues, so can't cardio. My advice to Commies would be don't try to take my gun.
I saw that video of Kyle being chased by a mob, and I jumped on the elliptical that night.
I have a concept 2 rowing machine, bought it during the lockdown and do hiit and 10k rows... endurance will make the difference when the shit hits the fan. Stay safe patriots 🙏
Pro-tip! Getting back on the step machine right now!
Or start shooting earlier
Basic zombieland knowledge
IN COWBOY BOOTS TOO!
You ever run in cowboy boots?
Get some buddies and do indian runs. Best ever cardio.
Rule #1.
Wow. Puts things into perspective pede
