It's not that so much as a lot of athletes have never had to put effort into learning their entire lives because they were so athletically gifted. Plenty of successful athletes have actually become quite well educated because they enjoyed learning, but without that thirst for knowledge many are barely more educated than a child.

No. Tons of em are smart disciplined people. Probably depends on what sport they practice though ;)
