In this video you can see the scene of Joseph Rosenbaum getting shot is preceded by a shot being fired by a man who raises his arm and points it diagonally, firing a warning shot:

Notice how he swings his arm forward to brace for the recoil. It takes a few replays to see how the sound of the first shot coincides, syncing perfectly with that first shot. Of course Kyle being chased, cannot possibly know it was a warning shot, he has to assume he's being shot at at this point. Also, the first shot is a high pitched pistol round, you can clearly tell the difference between this and the rifle rounds that have a deeper mid-tone sound. I also wanted to point out Joseph threw a bag of what appeared to me to be a bottle of orange juice or some orange liquid, not a molotov as some have stated. The light from the floodlights lights up the bag making it appear like it was a fire, but it was simply the illumination of the plastic and possibly the reflection of the bottles inside. Hopefully that's all the video out there but it paints a much different picture than what media outlets are pushing.
The overall picture is that the mob of agitators, who the streamer says are Antifa, were going around attacking and provoking several businesses along this street, first encountering an armed civilian team and throwing stuff at them before yelling and trying to stir trouble before they back off. Later they bash cars at a dealership and walk toward a second dealership, which Kyle's group is defending, they try the same shit but instead of holding their ground because they were a smaller team they retreated. They assume these guys are pushovers and they start rushing them when they get split up, notice Kyle is completely alone in the shooting video. The Antifa mob starts chasing them down because they start running, a shot is fired and that's when Joseph gets too close to Kyle and the shooting happens. Kyle runs to regroup and runs through around 40 people who start yelling to get him and that's why the 2nd and 3rd shooting happened.
Alternate angles of the same scene. This one shows Kyle was running forward away from the people chasing him when the first shot is fired, Kyle did not fire this shot you can see both his arms relaxed and lowered:
I still haven't seen how or when the group gets chased down, but as you can see here the medic who takes an arrow to the arm is with Kyle's group getting in their faces to record. He couldn't have stayed with them for too long so I imagine very soon after this video arguing leads to chasing and the shooting happens. Either that or they were stalking them for several minutes, I'm not sure.
