400 rounds of .223 Rem mega-cheap steel-casing scraped-off-the-back-of-Tula's-warehouse-floor shit currently bargain-basements at $216.00 or so (Ammoseek search engine).
x3 = $648 per month in ammunition just to cover this month's burn. Given the rise in prices, next month will likely break the $900 mark, and October will cost him $1000.
All said, dude's either lying through his fucking teeth or shooting a .22 rimfire
Personal addendum: I used to participate in IPSA a long time ago. 400-500 rounds per month for the meets wasn't unheard of. That said, I reloaded all my shiz precisely because it cost so much to burn factory rounds. I also dropped from my initial .45 ACP to a .40 S&W no-jacket cartridge because even while reloading, .45 ACP ain't cheap.
Meh, I love shooting my .22. If you are lacking in any of the fundamentals, a .22 will not compensate for your lack of skill.
When you start reliably dinging 200yrd steel with a .22, you feel very accomplished.
Air rifle? 1000 worth of ammo (pellets and bbs)
More likely Airsoft.
Sure we all say "move through x rounds". C'mon maaaan.
