I think this is basically what the cops in Kenosha were saying to the DA, mayor & governor with their actions, actually. After wasting Antifa, Kyle Rittenhouse literally walked into a police convoy with his hands up while the crowd was shouting that he's the shooter, and the cops just let him go on his merry way despite also having been front row witnesses to his street battle. They were seen on camera being pretty friendly with him and the other militiamen (even giving him water) before the shootings, as well.
While I understand the gist of this Pebblethrow comic, I don't think it's particularly fair to slam the Kenosha PD - they seem to have been quite based & understanding. Rittenhouse wasn't even arrested until he was back in his hometown in Illinois, and I've heard he may have turned himself in anyway.
I get that perspective, in theory all cops should be willing - even eager - to spit on unlawful orders and do the right thing. But in practice, to my understanding, too many are trained to obey orders, and those who don't are penalized, ostracized and fired. Even good ones can be browbeaten into line. Worse still in this climate, if they do act against orders and get themselves fired, they're likely to be replaced by commies-in-blue who come out of the police academy knowing nothing but the party line, or else not at all.
I think it's quite the needle to thread, and cops like those at Kenosha or the NYPD are doing so as carefully as they can with malicious compliance. The former, well - they seem to have taken an attitude of 'so you don't want us to contain the riots and arrest people who do bad things after curfew huh? OK :>)' and, as I said, did nothing to stop Rittenhouse after he killed those felons. Considering he walked up to their convoy asking to be arrested (and a crowd was shouting that he was the shooter too), Kenosha PD may as well have just high-fived him.
And the NYPD, from what I've seen, have arrested the people who keep painting over the BLM mural in front of Trump Tower, but then released them immediately so they can do it over and over. Again, malicious compliance with what is demanded of them - they aren't treating the 'Jesus Matters' lady and others any differently than they've been instructed to handle rioting BLM, after all.
While I can see the merit in openly defying unlawful orders from chickenshit and compromised superiors, I think trying to run out the clock until Trump's re-elected and has a free hand to really crush the Democrats, Antifa, BLM, etc. to splinters is just as worthwhile a strategy, and no less or more risky.
The situation you mentioned - commies coming straight out of the academy following the party line - already happened, been happening for around 15-20 years minimum. Why do you think they allow their comrades to wreak havoc on citizens? Why do you think they keep wanting to harass regular lawful citizens for minor bullshit made up reasons and supporting politicians and enforcing unjust no knock warrants and red flag laws, and stop opposing removal of fundamental rights from citizens the moment the politicians write in a "law enforcement exemption" for even retired cops?
