I live in AZ. And yesterday, the day after Kyle's rout, BLM was all prepared to peacefully protest/march in downtown Phoenix. It was scheduled and publicized on social media.
But they cancelled it in the afternoon. Apparently, many of the leaders of the groups got a lot of death threats and they felt there was no way to keep the "protesters" safe. It was a glorious victory for conservatism.

I just saw Sargon of Akkad's video "Socialists are not good people" or some similar title, and the whole premise was that many popular left leaning Youtubers were all discussing who to kill or throw into the Gulag after the Revolution took place, all "behind closed discords ahem doors". The kind of rhetoric expressed there, the gleeful discussion of killing or torturing your political opponents, does not get walked back by the same people expressing it. I see plenty of conservatives, or really just non-left people, promising self-defense on the right. On the left I see tons of threats and promises of political violence, not in retaliation, but just in general. Good luck to the establishment in trying to reign this in.

I'm sure that there will be a fair amount of disagreement here with me on this, but the choice to not get involved in Syria until it was already too late was one of the dumbest fuckups of the obama administration. Unlike Libya - where we just killed any powerstructure whatsoever - in the early days of the Syrian Civil War you had a large contingent of defected Army Officers and politicians running actually organized secular resistance units. Many of whom would have been able to easily assert control over the Syrian Arab Army after a quick decisive victory.
Instead - Obama watched as red line after red line was crossed. As these resistance units ran out of money and bullets. And then who conveniently shows up? AQI. They offer men and bullets for loyalty. The alternative was death. It was an easy choice. So the Free Syrian Army loses trained fighters to AQI - which later becomes ISIS. And the guys going to them weren't fanatics. They were fighters who needed the tools they needed to fight. Thing is - you don't spend long around crazies without getting pretty crazy in the process. Everyone around you is saying the same things. It's what we see now in all our groups in the US. Reinforcing narratives. Doesn't matter if the ideas are true - just that they are repeated.
And that's how we ended up with ISIS. Because we got involved in a country when we shouldn't but not another when we should. We seem to be good at that. Never hit where we should, and always intervene when we shouldn't.

I got red pilled sometime between 2015-2016. I think you could reasonably call the 2016 election night a turning point, but I started listening to non-left voices in 2015. I was swayed by them, but still listened to a giant media bubble of progressive politics. We're talking Rachel Maddow, Bill Maher, and whatever came on MSNBC or late night "comedy" shows every single night. I voted for Hillary last time around because I still bought into the narrative, but the election night, when I was told there was a 95-98% chance of a Hillary victory, finally pulled the red lenses from my rose-tinted glasses. I realized the Sargon of Akkad was calling it since 2014, that Michael Knowles had been completely correct, and most importantly I realized that I had been woefully lied to and ate it up for years. It warms my heart to see others come to the same conclusion. Trump 2020 all the way, and if I could take back my vote for Hillary in 2016 then I would in a heartbeat. I live in AZ. And yesterday, the day after Kyle's rout, BLM was all prepared to peacefully protest/march in downtown Phoenix. It was scheduled and publicized on social media.
But they cancelled it in the afternoon. Apparently, many of the leaders of the groups got a lot of death threats and they felt there was no way to keep the "protesters" safe. It was a glorious victory for conservatism.

I just saw Sargon of Akkad's video "Socialists are not good people" or some similar title, and the whole premise was that many popular left leaning Youtubers were all discussing who to kill or throw into the Gulag after the Revolution took place, all "behind closed discords ahem doors". The kind of rhetoric expressed there, the gleeful discussion of killing or torturing your political opponents, does not get walked back by the same people expressing it. I see plenty of conservatives, or really just non-left people, promising self-defense on the right. On the left I see tons of threats and promises of political violence, not in retaliation, but just in general. Good luck to the establishment in trying to reign this in.

I'm sure that there will be a fair amount of disagreement here with me on this, but the choice to not get involved in Syria until it was already too late was one of the dumbest fuckups of the obama administration. Unlike Libya - where we just killed any powerstructure whatsoever - in the early days of the Syrian Civil War you had a large contingent of defected Army Officers and politicians running actually organized secular resistance units. Many of whom would have been able to easily assert control over the Syrian Arab Army after a quick decisive victory.
Instead - Obama watched as red line after red line was crossed. As these resistance units ran out of money and bullets. And then who conveniently shows up? AQI. They offer men and bullets for loyalty. The alternative was death. It was an easy choice. So the Free Syrian Army loses trained fighters to AQI - which later becomes ISIS. And the guys going to them weren't fanatics. They were fighters who needed the tools they needed to fight. Thing is - you don't spend long around crazies without getting pretty crazy in the process. Everyone around you is saying the same things. It's what we see now in all our groups in the US. Reinforcing narratives. Doesn't matter if the ideas are true - just that they are repeated.
And that's how we ended up with ISIS. Because we got involved in a country when we shouldn't but not another when we should. We seem to be good at that. Never hit where we should, and always intervene when we shouldn't.
I've wondered that too and I pray you're right. I just know people can have very short memories and a lot of people feel safe sticking to what is familiar. You know what's really stupid is they removed the scene in The Best Of Both Worlds when Riker tells Worf to fire the Deflector Dish, and then they cut out the whole 10 seconds where the Warp Engines are revving up for the massive discharge - they cut it straight from "Mr Worf, FIRE!" -and then it cuts straight to the deflector dish firing. Probably the most aggravating and stupid (and only?) edit in the whole series when they put it out on Blu-Ray. I need to make a fan-edit and restore that scene from the DVDs, I dont think it's on the Blu-Ray versions.

I got red pilled sometime between 2015-2016. I think you could reasonably call the 2016 election night a turning point, but I started listening to non-left voices in 2015. I was swayed by them, but still listened to a giant media bubble of progressive politics. We're talking Rachel Maddow, Bill Maher, and whatever came on MSNBC or late night "comedy" shows every single night. I voted for Hillary last time around because I still bought into the narrative, but the election night, when I was told there was a 95-98% chance of a Hillary victory, finally pulled the red lenses from my rose-tinted glasses. I realized the Sargon of Akkad was calling it since 2014, that Michael Knowles had been completely correct, and most importantly I realized that I had been woefully lied to and ate it up for years. It warms my heart to see others come to the same conclusion. Trump 2020 all the way, and if I could take back my vote for Hillary in 2016 then I would in a heartbeat. I can't believe how bigoted I was towards conservatives, and how blind I was to my own party's excesses and violent rhetoric/behavior. I love how these lefty children always have this sense of authority over whether people are allowed to argue with them or not. It's pervasive.
