Standard practice is to get people to plead guilty to a lesser charge. Shorter sentence, loss of vote, loss of college, loss of career, loss of right to possess firearms, loss of ability to defend oneself.

Kid needs a good lawyer. A REAL good lawyer. And we ought to fund his defense.
