We stopped the Apollo program in favor of welfare, followed by affirmative action, followed by woke culture, followed by the Antifa bullshit we see today.
By the Emperor, I fucking love Warhammer. I'd take a wild, brutal galaxy of tyranids and orks over a gay planet of "diversity" and "progress" in a heartbeat.
As long as we have our Mars Pattern Bolter, blessed ceramite and the love of the God Emperor of Mankind to oath our moments too, no variation of any galaxy will prevent us!
sticks on wax-seal and holy oaths
loads and racks bolter
leaves combat helmet off, duh.
If we had not defunded the space program, we would have been on Mars in 1980. We would, by now, have bases on both the Moon and Mars, and multiple large space stations orbiting Earth, the Moon, and Mars.
And likely be further along technologically then we can comprehend. The first space mission changed the planet.
The government should collect and spend taxes that helps progress everyone forward. Not create dependency. Programs should have mandatory reviews for usefulness
In 50 years we've gone from rewarding achievers, to awarding losers; from encouraging a positive lifestyle, to encouraging dependency. Fucking pathetic.
The earth based mass driver was estimated only $11 Billion total which should have been able to launch 1000 Kg Telephone size launch template vehicles which could be done every 1.5 minutes(realistically likely every 3-5 minutes) which would be 12 at the lowest to 40 at the highest every hour(960 in a 24 hour period) at $100-$400 per kilogram. We could have had a space station like the Standford Taurus Wheel by now. If gone by todays money it could cost around $40 Billion-$60 Billion and it would still pay for itself after 4-6 years at 200 launches/day with only 132 working days.
The rocket fuel right now is made up of Super cooled Liquid Oxygen(LOX) and Liquid Hydrogen can be manufactured enmass from mining the moon for the Oxygen, and the hydrogen can be gained by using gasses that absorb Hydrogen and having the hydrogen being flung out from the sun using magnetic coning into the gasses(the last part is still hypothetical but it is based on the way gas reaches stars using magnetic lanes).
It would have cost us $400 Billion to complete that type of station using this method in total. The method though still has some problems, but the solutions to them are actually very doable since it was all based on 1980 tech. meaning that we have the material and know how now to make more efficient and stable versions of it through simulations to help refine it a little.
We can do that on mars and the moon, but earth itself is quite literally too much of a gravity well to get that much mass for cheap.
For the moon it is doable, but to get there cheaply this method should be first before going to it.
As for Mars it should be after the first two are done mainly because it could provide materials Cheaply and building the Most important section(the top) in space so that going downwards is a lot easier to transport them to the upper parts until the bottom part is done so that when they link it would only be connecting. The fact that the cable could be disconnected from the top would add a safety feature as well, or vice versa depending if that link is being pulled up to get it away from the Tower zone(Elevator zone).
Mercury and Venus would be really hard to land people on. By really hard, I mean impossible with any foreseeable technology. Any flag would burn. That's not a good image.
Mercury is basically impossible to reach an orbit around, just from the delta-v required. We would need a fundamental change to the way we propel rockets to make it viable.
Unfortunately, KSP has rocket performance set ridiculously high vs what it is in the real world. The mods that give the real solar system and realistic rockets are a kick in the nuts.
Mars has potential for humans to inhabit and become a second earth. Going to take some time. A lot of time but it’s possible. Not so much with the moon. Moon also has way less gravity.
Mars has only 36% of Earth’s gravity and holes in its magnetic field due to its core having gone cold, the latter means it can’t retain any atmosphere or water that isn’t ice. There really aren’t any habitable bodies in our solar system aside from earth.
One reason is for public support.
Saying "we're going to another planet/Mars" is more impressive than "we're going to the moon".
Even though a permanent colony on the moon would be the logical first step, sometimes you can only do what the public will be willing to support.
In saying that, NASA does have a plan for a permanent orbital station around the moon, which is kind of the best of both worlds. Having the infrastructure and proximity of a lunar station will be invaluable and likely critical to a future Mars mission, but you can still market it to the public by saying it's for Mars.
At this point I don't care what they do just so long as we get more stuff into space. Ultimately space exploration is the only thing that matters. The sooner we're a multiplanetary species the better.
It's a huge stretch goal for space, and it gets us working on interplanetary travel which can (hopefully) lead to an advance that will make interstellar travel feasible.
If we ever colonize Mars, we will either have to gatekeep the shit out of it, or send all of the communist fucks there to live out their fantasy while the rest of us keep Earth.
cant wait to get there and spend every second of time fighting to survive in a place totally inhospitable for human life. and the pay off? a big fat nothing.
i mean maybe in 2120 it will be feasible but all of our manned missions should be focused on establishing operations on the moon. not only will this allow us to test and prepare for long term missions but gives us a perfect low energy launching base for deep system exploration.
theres easily harvested energy on the moon and if something goes wrong there is a far greater chance that a rescue mission will be able to save lives when travel is only days as opposed to weeks.
We stopped the Apollo program in favor of welfare, followed by affirmative action, followed by woke culture, followed by the Antifa bullshit we see today.
Now, we fix this mistake.
We should use the Commies as a solid fuel source, like some of the cruisers do in Warhammer 40k.
Heretics burn for the Emperor! I like it.
Na. Even their corpses would be cucked and low energy.
Hey, let's not be too quick with dismissing this idea...
Trump is going to Mars.....
GEOTUS CONFIRMED!!!
There's no Commies on Mars - some viking sounding dude.
And never will be.
-descendant of Vikings.
KANGS

Now, lets get us some Commies' brother.
My armor is contempt.
That makes you one of these: https://www.coolminiornot.com/pics/pics16/img5d1aba7cb43de.jpg
You're pretty bad-ass mang!
Not if we preprocess into oil first.
Cold-pressed commies? They love cold-pressed shit.
Don't forget Muslim outreach.
My cheeks are spread and ready.
I told you to make me a sandwich first ,slut
Nice clock you’ve got there Akmed! Want to take a ride in my chopper?
Are Muslims even allowed to go to Mars? Seems like that'd be pretty fucking haram.
Not only that but then they could never walk around that faggot stone again

We gave Trillions to people who hate us and funded our own Communist takeover. No more!
Technically NASA could have got a massive space station by ISS standards ready by now. https://space.nss.org/l5-news-mass-driver-update/
I'm more in favor of a space elevator

Pretty much.
The United Planets of America.
Imperium of Man
I heard it's already been called for Jeb!
Please clap.
Biden giving a speech on Mars: “Wonderful to be back on Nevada...”
Space corn pop was a bad dude and ran a bunch of bad space boys
Get your ass to Mars.
Reeeeeee!
You can't just call our flag beautiful, then fly into outer space and use it to stab innocent planets of color.
BENNYYYYYYY
SCREW YOOOOOU!!!
Now who gon feed his twelve kids ?
SPACE FORCE BITCHES!
We’d be exploring our safe spaces with our wife’s dildo.
#MarsIsOurs
Oh shit! That's the tag right there!
It is America's duty and birthright to put a flag on EVERY celestial body.
Mercury and Venus would be really hard to land people on. By really hard, I mean impossible with any foreseeable technology. Any flag would burn. That's not a good image.

Then we laser etch our flag into the surfaces of both planets.
What did he say about Mars? I missed that part!
He guaranteed we would be the first country on Mars
Better hurry, before our reindeer breeding program takes off, eh.
That's awesome!
What's the fixation on mars? I've heard it's uninhabitable because of the atmosphere and soil. Why not the moon?
Mars has potential for humans to inhabit and become a second earth. Going to take some time. A lot of time but it’s possible. Not so much with the moon. Moon also has way less gravity.

Titan can be colonized. Would need pressurized suits and or habitats due to Titan have almost the same ATM as Earth. Just need heating and O2
Mars can be colonized too, I was just correcting the perspective that some people have about how easy it will be.
Absolutely

Meme it
If this country can dump some dead weight, we can be nimble enough to make it to Mars.
America was great when it aimed high, not buttressing the low.
Finders Keepers.
Id gladly volunteer for a one way ticket to plant an American flag on mars, along with an equally as yuge Space Force and Trump flag
The salt would flow for eons
Seize Mars.
Deport the all the reds to the red planet.
New Guantanamo Bay 👌👌👌💃💃💃💃🤺🤺
I agree strongly. We must claim the Moon and Mars as ours otherwise China will and they will use it for evil.
Elon is a Trump supporter that’s all you need to know
Mars USA!
WE OWN MARS!
MARS IS OURS! MARS IS OURS! MARS IS OURS!
man on mars in trump's second term or PEACH MINT
First country to plant weed on Mars! 🇺🇸
The Knights of Mars
In all honesty, it's impossible to terraform Mars unless we have the capability to create a geomagnetic field.
No field, no atmosphere, no liquid water.
a few nukes will create an atmosphere right?
We might stop by the moon and pick up our car we left there with the keys in it because nobody else could make it
51st State!
It is quite the Red Pill.
cant wait to get there and spend every second of time fighting to survive in a place totally inhospitable for human life. and the pay off? a big fat nothing.
You're not wrong.. But that's because you haven't realized the Human Spirit. Exploration.
We're intelligent hairless fucking bipedal Apes that LIVES IN THE ARTIC!!!

My dumbass thought he said the Moon. I was like, "Wait, did he just debunk the moon landing?" Smh
Hollyweird gonna make a movie about this without any reference to Murica.
Also for some reason, Va-China comes in and helps out during a bad situation.
Flu-spreadin' motherfuckers.
THE BEST IS YET TO COME
MAOURS
Instead of exploring the stars, we're spending trillions to subsidize the reproduction of underclasses.
FUCK YEAH
Came here to say this title is > all
I just wanted to play vidya
First we need to leave low earth orbit... The moon landing in the 60s is a laugh if you actually look into it.
When America was great before, we sent some race car drivers to the moon on a tinfoil glider with nothing more than some gas cans and a wristwatch.
Selling 1,000 acres of prime martian real estate.
Deed is legit.
Bidding starts at $1 pet acre.
Go!
Need boots on the ground to properly claim it.
"...ACAB" and plants blm flag
Mars is in play!
I just wanna go space boink my all-female crew to Mars.
I'll believe it when I see it
Paint the Red Planet red, white, and blue
Btw, there are probably massive oil reserves on Mars.
