I guess it sucks to have a "cretin" president who gives PDs a double edged sword and takes responsibility for draconian covid shutdowns. I can see why someone like that would develop a temper on TD, disagreeing with the guy you're on this site supposedly supporting. It's a real shame, because Trump also happens to share that concern that police should have that equipment but they should be held to a higher standard so they don't misuse it.
He doesn’t take responsibility for the lockdowns and in fact these lockdowns have purposefully been left up to the States and local governments. The far-left media has been calling for a national lockdown and a national mask mandate but our President thankfully refused to issue such draconian measures. He’s even let the local and State politicians deal with the riots while obviously they’re doing an extremely poor job by restraining police and even calling to defund them.
He might take credit for his efforts to “fight the virus” but these efforts do not include lockdowns. He wants a strong police force just as I do to quash these riots but we do not want heavily militarized police that governors and mayors and even future Presidents can use to instill tyranny like the tyranny we’ve seen recently.
Militarized police are a double-edged sword that we simply do not need. We can have a strong, competent police force without militarization.
Let's not argue about this. Listen to your own lying ears: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxqHfUcn2hI. Our president has been taking credit for shutting down the country the past two weeks even though most of the shutdown decisions were made at the state and local level. You and I can argue about how much he did or didn't shut down the country with actual facts but the left only catch 5 second clips of him. Or how about this: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/28/us/politics/trump-police-military-surplus-equipment.html. Maybe you also missed him saying "it was just sitting there in storage". It's okay, not everybody is a cretin like me who almost never misses a speech our president gives. Don't be such a jerk next time. I respect your opinion that it is a double edged sword (what reasonable person wouldn't) and you can have some leeway in tolerating my opinion that the bearcats, tear grenade launchers and body armor Trump unlocked might be useful in these riots most states are allowing to continue. Neither one of us is going to vote for dementia Joe over things like this and SWAT isn't going to stop hiring rangers or training in counter-terrorism tactics used by the military. You are also entertaining to have a reasonable discussion with!
Hello there! You seem upset, go ahead and do your thing.
Nope. I’m actually pretty amused by your shenanigans. I still think you’re a prick so I’ll go ahead and block you anyway. Cheers
