I'm just saying it applies to all industries. in CA all jobs under $500 don't require any type of license.

lots of legal immigrants are starting off with small "gig" style janitorial services where they are independent contractors to make money.

it hurts everyone. not just on a corporate level.

lots of landscapers starting off write themselves off as independent contractors so they can incorporate properly and pay taxes instead of working under the table

I know lots of CPAs/Lawyers that also get hired through gig/independent work that got screwed by this

it doesn't affect you as an employer but if its a b2b transaction or.if you're the one receiving the 1099 youre still affected by it. not everyone has the luxury to be a small biz owner. a lot of small fish are hurt with the new law. across all different industries
