Thanks for this. I hate wading through the YT swamp and getting sidetracked by recommended videos. I was able to watch many of the speaker that I had missed, like the McCloskys, because you your work. I salute you!

I love America more than ever

22
Block_Helen 22 points ago +22 / -0

It was fantastic, all four nights. I've never paid such close attention to a party convention in my life and I've been following politics for almost 30 years.

I actually liked the format better than the usual. You got to watch every speaker closely and didn't have to wait for applause lines. When it came time for Ivanka last night the difference was stark. It was so boring having to wait for people to clap (and frankly the speech wasn't all that great). Everyone else had been so much more compelling because no interruption.

Also I got to the point where I loved just seeing that room with the beautiful columns and molding and flags where most of the speeches were filmed. I didn't know it until he mentioned it the other night, but it turns out my husband's band played there once, many years ago.

3
neehl 3 points ago +3 / -0

I said this in the thread on one of the watch parties but this is what the format needs to be from now on. With the exception of Kimberley Guilfoyle’s speech, which was clearly written for applause breaks and suffered without them, every speech was so much better because you got to hear it without interruptions and their message was much more effective. I don’t think I would have made it through all four nights as laser focused on the speeches if there were constant applause breaks and chanting.

1
Block_Helen 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, there's no way I would have watched the entire program all four nights if we had to sit through applause breaks. Good point about Guilfoyle's speech. I noticed that Melania's speech, though it was live and in front of an audience, seemed not to be written that way which I appreciated and I'm sure she preferred it that way too.

2
RoscoesMom 2 points ago +2 / -0

I felt exactly the same! I could really pay attention to each speaker, with no distractions. Found it far more meaningful, direct, and thought-provoking. I was a bit surprised at my reaction as I feared it might be low-energy without a live audience. I was riveted to C-span all four nights. So glad we have a little gathering in NH tonight: it will help my withdrawal symptoms!

2
Block_Helen 2 points ago +2 / -0

Totally agree on all points. I'm excited about the rally tonight! Had no idea until OP mentioned it. I know they're keeping these things quieter these days for security reasons.

I know we all have high energy, but how does everyone deal with all this coming from the left and stay calm? How does it not affect you watching the threats these violent leftist savages make? they burn, loot, riot, murder and we do nothing effective to counter it. We need more Kyles. more people willing to take that shot and not keep worrying about "taking the high road and just endure". These insurrectionists will never stop. Not if we win the election, not if we take back the House not ever. The only way to get rid of them...is going to be what we all don't want to promote. We aren't going to be rid of SJWs, BLM or Antifa without "going there". They're going to just keep coming back in waves and hitting other cities and towns. People have to be willing to treat them as we would an invading army and not think of them as "american citizens" when you decide to go on offense. When they burn cities, terrorize homes and assault people in the name of BLM they are effectively renouncing their America citizenship and all ties to this country. It should be treated the same as if Russia or some Muslim national navy just landed on the coast and is trying to invade.

Second Term Trump will not hold back. Their day is coming. If we lash out now we will lose support like these violent idiots are doing. DJT has revealed the character of a LOT of people and this is them fighting back right before they are crushed. We will win soon but it’s a process

10
Aquamine-Amarine 10 points ago +10 / -0

I know we all have high energy, but how does everyone deal with all this coming from the left and stay calm?

Makes me fucking sick how evil and delusional these people are on Twitter. Calling Trump a dictator... my God, the delusion and brainwashing.

4
The_Litehaus_Abides 4 points ago +4 / -0

They're trying to set that narrative because they know justice is coming their way. Remember how they started in with the "dictator" bullshit immediately upon DJT winning the 2016 election?

They were scared shitless he was gonna come after their criminal asses right away.

11
humped2424 11 points ago +11 / -0

Once Trump wins we will be on the offense believe me. These rioters are weak soyboys who travel in packs the police can’t do there job neither can the nat guard.

15
Llegien20 15 points ago +15 / -0

I honestly think that the more these BLM/Antifa groups move out of Democrat cities and attempt to go to outlying suburbs and towns, the more "Kyles" will rise up. Most of the cities that BLM/Antifa have been running loose in are massively Democrat; echo chambers for their hollow cries.

12
Llegien20 12 points ago +12 / -0

Focusing on how the strength of the United States comes from its people versus its government is truly a wonderful distinction. WE THE PEOPLE make this country great, because after all, Americans are gonna America.

Any ratings out for last night? I feel like it will be pretty big

18
Warren_Puffitt 18 points ago +18 / -0

I only sampled the DNC out of fear of exposure/contamination (a lot of entries in my old Navy medical record page for radiation dose, because special weapons).

I watched every minute of the RNC, riveted.

If, in some alternate reality I was politics-neutral, a fence-sitter, someone still looking for reasons why or why not commies suck and all belong in eternal Hell, and I was given the opportunity to attend one...not both of the conventions and, somehow I errantly chose the DNC, after watching last night's MAGAtravaganza I would never overcome the resulting shame and regret for the rest of my life.

4
DoYouBelieveInMAGA 4 points ago +4 / -0

Whats an Eidolon

2
TheEidolon 2 points ago +2 / -0

It’s a concept from Ancient Greek literature, the definition I snagged from google says “In ancient Greek literature, an eidolon is a spirit-image of a living or dead person; a shade or phantom look-alike of the human form.” Homer and Euripides both explore the concept of Helen of Troy’s eidolon in their writings.

Poole couldn't enter the White House without wearing a beanie and didn't have the respect for the place to stay the whole time. Instead he just dipped out and said "lol sk8boarder lyf". Glad he's waking up and he's probably helped the cause, but I wouldn't trust him to give a patriotic pro-Trump speech.

2
Vonsey 2 points ago +2 / -0

He wears the beanie to hide the fact he is balding, but now he is married to the damn thing as it is part of his image. I couldn’t recognise him if he took it off

Anyone else glad the DNC went first?

After that shitshow, the RNC could have aired reruns of howdy doody and it still would've been better than the DNC. Also, had we gone first, the DNC would have just copied our homework.

jennyfrutex 47 points ago +47 / -0

I actually think they made the lack of live audience (for most things) work in their favor. The production was very good: it was smooth, no dead time, no awkward pauses. It kept moving, one speaker to the next, and the flow between speakers and videos was great. And the pacing was excellent. Long segments, short segments, deep emotions and also lighthearted moments.

I enjoyed it immensely.

6
Block_Helen 6 points ago +6 / -0

Completely agree. No dead time and no waiting for applause lines and other time-consuming stuff meant they could squeeze way more speakers and videos in. The content was miles better than any convention I've ever seen, even the 2016 RNC.

Although nothing will ever top Trump's entrance at the 2016 RNC. :)

6
HockeyMom4Trump 6 points ago +6 / -0

The best convention ever! It was amazing.

17
psybrnaut 17 points ago +17 / -0

So well done!

After years of Republican content being so stale and lame (while the Hollyweird Dems made all the emotional well produced propaganda), it's very inspiring to see the RNC look like a top notch Trump Production while the DNC was to quote Jr "a week long I Hate America Zoom call".

Top fucking KAG

7
HockeyMom4Trump 7 points ago +7 / -0

No one wants to watch someone else’s pathetic, desperate Zoom call.

The Democrats thought incorporating Zoom technology into their convention made them seem hip and tech savvy. Instead, it already feels dated and old. Bad strategy.

36
xBigCoffinHunter 36 points ago +36 / -0

Ann Dorn stole the entire RNC. No message hit harder. Some really strong speakers in that list and she absolutely drilled home what is on the line here. Heartbreaking.

3
Block_Helen 3 points ago +3 / -0

She was so strong. But there were so many great speeches last night. It was early on but I thought Dan Scavino was incredible.

Ivanka was honestly one of the worst. And I liked Rudy's intensity but I got pissed off when he called George Floyd's death a "killing." It was not a killing of any sort.

1
seaside_dreams 1 point ago +1 / -0

Ya know I can see how you might think Ivanka was bad. But I think it was because she was so much different than she normally is. I think she was really excited and was not her normal reserve state. So it's hard to say what she's really like.

I'd just say she was way unexpected. At least in my opinion.

1
Block_Helen 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, I don't mean to dump on Ivanka. It was just low energy compared to the rest of the night. Not really her fault.

3
xBigCoffinHunter 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah Rudy kinda pissed me off there too. That narrative has been shattered with the bodycam leak.

2
Block_Helen 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah, some folks on our side don't seem to have gotten the memo yet or are pandering. There was far too much jumping to conclusions for my taste before the bodycam leak as well. People here for example.

2
xBigCoffinHunter 2 points ago +2 / -0

I jumped. The optics alone were pretty bad. Floyd specifically mentions the knee on his neck and not being able to breathe. It was easy to buy into. Sometimes cops actually do use excessive force. Of course then we soon find out that he said he couldn’t breathe the whole time and he was high as a kite. Once we hit day two with no body cam footage release I was over it. Fuckery was definitely afoot.

1
Block_Helen 1 point ago +1 / -0

Once we hit day two with no body cam footage release I was over it.

Yep, that was the key right there.

I LOVED Alice Johnson's i thought she embodied Land of Opportunity. She took her time of incarceration and did remarkable things. She challenged herself and others. Trump believes that everyone has potential if you only believe in yourself. If you only look at what talents God has given you and put them to use.

Have you all heard the Parable of the Talents... it's doesn't matter if you believe in God or not. It's a useful lesson for life. You must take what fate has handed you and stop fucking around and blaming other people and making excuses.
