Burp valves on a chest seal are a nice gimmick but usually fill up with blood. You should still seal a chest wound because you’ll be turning an open or tension pneumothorax into a simple pneumothorax. And anything that will stop airflow will do- duct tape, potato chip bag, Saran Wrap, gloved hand.
