Thank you Pede!. Just donated $20.00 Did my part. any other pedes ready to put money to help this young man! Please sticky this mods...please lots of pedes willing to help
Ugh wrong. Two payment options, one to the general fund which helps their defense team fight any case, and one link directly to pay for Kyle's defense fund. Appears none of the money from either option goes directly in Kyle's pockets, all of it goes to the lawyers.
I'm not sure this is a defense fund. It appears to be (I hope I'm wrong) a fund to sue people for libel.
This is from the website:
FightBack will provide resources to aid people pursuing meritorious claims for damages in litigation relating to the foregoing goals, including damages from defamation actionable under the laws of the state having jurisdiction over the defamatory conduct, as well as defamation resulting from violations, overuse and/or misuse of Section 230 of the Communication Decency Act of 1996 by social media companies.
Claims for damages =/= defense fund?
As it's a foundation set up for the above purpose, would it be legally allowed to fund Kyle's defense?
Also strange that Kyle isn't mentioned once on the website.
The only thing linking it to Kyle is Lin Wood's tweet as he is Kyle's attorney. I wish it was a little clearer however.
It's almost certainly legit in that they'll use it to fund Kyle's defense, but what happens to the money remaining after Kyle's defense costs is what concerns me. I hope it goes directly to Kyle and not to the firm but the fact that you're donating to the fund and not Kyle is worrying.
Also just one other thing, the foundation wasn't created to defend Kyle as if you go to the News page, it says it was founded on August 24th (Monday), which was before the incidents took place.
DALLAS, TX / August 24, 2020 / Renowned national litigators L. Lin Wood and John M. Pierce in partnership with former U.S. Department of Justice prosecutor Lawson Pedigo announce today the formation of a 501(c)(4), the #FightBack Foundation Inc. (“#FightBack”).
Like I said, totally with the campaign and will contribute, just wish there was a little more clarity about whether ALL of the money is going to Kyle.
Too bad they don't take credit card. I'm Canadian and I have to put 20 bucks towards his defense. Will be reloading my PayPal account later today and donating. You all should too. This is the hill we fight on.
Just contacted the mods. I hope they sticky this for all of our sakes. thanks for posting this

Thanks Pede! I just donated and I encourage ALL TD.winners to donate as well, this is about more than Kyle.

I'm not worried about Lin Wood taking a dime. I'm worried about the others on the team. Reuters reported:
"In one of the lawsuits filed in New York Supreme Court, Pierce admitted that he owes $3.75 million plus legal fees and interest to the funder."
I agree that the chances of it not being legit are minimal, just wish it was a little more explicitly for Kyle's defense.
