I've actually done this move, years ago, when I delivered pizza and there was a nut on drugs who just would not let me out of the car.
I contacted police immediately and the cop said to me "I'm almost off my shift. Are you going to make me do paperwork?" I said no.
10 minutes later I go to make my delivery at the address, and there is the dude and the cop across the street. The dude goes "THERE HE IS! THERE'S THE GUY THAT TRIED TO KILL ME!"
The cop looked at me, looked him, and says "Give me a break", and sent me on my way.
This is partly why I, to this day, keep my appearance neat and tuck in my shirt.
