I would still aim center mass. If someone was to survive said gunshot you leave yourself open to litigation in the realm of you shot to permanently maim or disfigure and it is hard to defend against especially if there is evidence that you aimed there on purpose. I know its fucked up but self defense with a gun is tricky business.
