This case is going to drag out forever, isn't it? This whole situation is terrible. I mean, he most definitely acted in self-defense, but he never should have been there in the first place, in my opinion, because there never should have been a riot/protest in the first place. That his victims are all convicted felons tells you about the nature of the people attending night-time riots, looting, etc.
There are so many people in their twenties and thirties who are looking to destroy things and "fight back" against this ill-defined "system" that "oppresses them", a system they don't actually understand, the one that literally won't allow people to commit crime and do whatever they want - that's all they know about it. And that's an injustice to them! What do you mean I can't cut corners and cheat and break the rules and look out for just me? And it's all races of people guilty of this. It's thousands of people who are opportunistically taking advantage of the situation because they think they feel wronged, because they never really learned right from wrong - they only want to "get theirs". Instant gratification.
I blame a half-century of no-fault divorce and absentee fathers and a 21st century social-media Zeitgeist carefully crafted by equally aggrieved Feminists (albeit mostly male feminist Hollywood writers and porn peddlers). And Progressives are enabling the "instant gratification" addicts, thinking that is the solution to these ills, to lessen the law, all for votes! Less jail time, less charging with crimes, more safe places to do drugs, less police funding... This will only create MORE (or genuine) systemic racism, if that's really a thing, because it will adversely impact poorer communities, many of which are African American.
Trump is like the last real, stoic leader. Most of society is too afraid to say what is right anymore. They confuse appeasement with peace. What did Chuck Palahniak call it? "A generation of men raised by women." This is not to say there are not great single mothers who are doing the right things, that's not what Chuck meant. He was encapsulating the primary problem with this generation, a lack of strong male role models in homes to guide and teach the masculine qualities that instill fear of God and fear of doing wrong.
But yeah, as for the kid, it's tragic. His life as he knew it is over, and will only get worse when he walks free. He'll need protection his whole life, I would think, or have to go in to hiding. I mean, he likely made a poor choice to even go to Kenosha but I understand why he did and don't fault anyone for doing so as long as it doesn't escalate in to real violence. Unfortunately, they chased him and they escalated it. So sad. But yeah, violence begets violence. None of this ever should have happened. We need Jesus to come back. I pray he does soon.
They keep the system ill-defined so they can always have an out. The more amorphous something is, the easier it is to attack and the easier it is to believe (even if it's doublethink) that you're right in attacking it.
