An 'army' of frogs used to be a nightmare of mine. Not anymore!

I've heard an Orthodox Rabbi describe the Frogs as the most horrible and painful of the ten plagues. They'd even climb into the bodies of the Egyptians. Feel them under their skin....

And if, confronted by these frogs, you want to run (like my nightmare), there would be so much squishing under your feet as you knocked the jumping ones off your face. A physical -and- emotional terror: the worst type of plague.

One story was it started off as one giant frog hopping out of the Nile. The soldiers tried to kill it, but every time they struck it, it split into two frogs. And each of these would split into two more. So as you ran and squished them under your feet, they'd split into more frogs.

Maybe another part was the giant frog opening its mouth and vomiting out hundreds of little frogs.

Damn, this would be a real hard monster to face in D&D...

Splitting under my feet? Even worse.

Apparently these ideas are from Midrash, or maybe a 1300s Spanish Haggadah, from my brief research right now; I did not know this before. Thanks, and Shabbat Shalom.

Wow, really into the depth.

It was funny how much frogs appear in our media and all (Kermit, Frogger) but I haven't seen that many. A little frog once showed up in our house. My wife thought it was a cute thing, but I thought it was damn gross. And trying to get it out was really tricky. Wasn't gonna grab the icky thing. Didn't want to squish it (yuck). Was trying to capture it in a glass but it's trickier than it sounds. Then hope it doesn't jump out of the top?

I'd rather squash a spider.

Mouse, no problem. Raccoon in the rafters, no problem. Groundhog under the porch, no problem. I'll put my manhood aside and say that if there were a frog in the house, I'd -at least- consider getting a hotel room until it's gone.

We had an ant infestation a few weeks ago. Exterminator had to spray the outside once, then again a week later, before they stopped coming in. It made me wonder how people used to handle these before all the poisons. Friend of mine said they would boil hot water and pour it onto the anthill, hoping to take out the queen.

Frogs.... yeah. Yuck.

Can someone tell me what pede and kek really mean? I've honestly stayed away from internet culture and social media for most of my life. TheDonald.win is the first time I've left my cave to participate and I just want to better understand the origins of these terms and what they mean to you guys.

I know I could go look it up, but I thought it might be interesting to hear what the words mean straight from you guys, my new patriotic internet family.

Kek is from starcraft, theres an alien race you can play as. Their language is garbled when you type IMs to other players to make it seem more "alien" I guess. While most of it isnt worth translating people figured out "lol" always appeared as "kek".

Edit: warcraft, not starcraft. Same idea though.

Oh, wow! Man. Thank you for explaining that! I'm pretty sure it is Starcraft, though! Warcraft was fantasy, Starcraft was sci-fi and had aliens.

I can't believe I never knew this kek
