Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs (thankfully don't live there anymore). I don't think a lot of people realize a staggering part of Illinois is salt of the earth farmers and heartland workers. If it weren't for Chicago Illinois would be as red as it gets.

And Lake county. And Will county when the Daley's were pushing in there. And alot of the other collar counties.
I'm in the exurbs and even we have been turning uncomfortably blue over the last few years as the city/suburbs based NPCs flee what they have created.
I bet Palos Heights is getting a bunch of new residents right about now.
