I wish more people knew about the bills he signed to benefit Native people. It's among a long list of accomplishments but those that really need to hear about them will never see or believe. Sad!
Apparently 3 bills - One gives compensation to the Spokane tribe for loss of their lands in the mid-1900s, one funds Native language programs, and the third gives federal recognition to the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians in Montana. Sorry, it's from a list I have but don't remember the exact source.
