Perhaps, or perhaps the "Never Let a Good Tragedy Go To Waste" policy needed some fine print about needing to occur in more of a venn diagram format from a timing standpoint and they went with the single circle approach.

Republicans made a big mistake by fighting gay marriage because it allowed Democrats to seize moral superiority in the media. It's one of those battles that loses the war so it's best not fought. We must accept people’s right to be free in their choices even if we don’t necessarily agree with their choices. Same thing with weed. A crime without a victim should not be a crime.
