Also, some on the right actually like UBI as insurance against cancelling. It's not the worst thought, but the idea that Democrats would allow "Nazis" to get YEETbucks is absurd, never gonna happen.

The problem with futurists is that they're greedy. They want the future now instead of when the technology and systems have been built out to make it a reality. UBI falls under this umbrella. UBI is a poor attempt to cobble together a future paradigm into our existing system. It's not going to happen, it doesn't work. You should be building towards you grandchildren's grandchildren's future when post scarcity is closer to reality and then they won't even need UBI.

Ah, you’re right. Okay, so then the cost of living goes up commensurately and everyone is struggling again. If I were a landlord and I knew my tenants suddenly had an extra $1000 every month, I’d raise the rent, and so would every other landlord in town.
