America is a workshop of ideas. our founding fathers designed it to be so. over and over again we have proved their genius. we have seen good ideas rise to the top just as we see hardworking people rise to the top, on their own merits. we need not be afraid of the bad ideas, they will fail of their own weaknesses.
they essentially built for us an immune system for diseased ideas and unhealthful modes of government.
as Americans we should not forbid leftism, we should debate it openly and honestly. very gladly i would coexist with leftists who were willing to do this.
but not leftism hiding its fatal weaknesses behind flimsy card-houses of lies and 'critical theory'. not leftism hidden like some sort of mental herpesvirus in the neurons of american education, infecting children and students with no experience to give immunity. not leftism which seeks to destroy all morality and to set itself up as a sort of dreadful ersatz religion. the dead god of wokeness, the cultus of cancellation.
there was a time when honest leftists could be found. leftists for whom their politics were a position, leftists who respected our American freedom of thought, leftists willing to debate.
it's true that they lost most every debate. it's true that an ordinary US supermarket proved to be an insuperable argument against their positions. but we allowed them, because we are free. we are not the USSR. our ideals are better, and stronger. our system is robust, our freedom allowed the best ideas to rise to prominence.
dishonest leftism, this post-modern viral infection, this has too long been a corruption in this country, and it is pleasant to see that the body politic is finally beginning to clear it.
and when it is gone, if there are any honest leftists remaining in america, i would not be one to silence them, or to prevent them from debating their position.
