Libertarianism is about principles. The #1 principle of libertarianism is Individualism.

The formula for libertarian preference goes something like this:

Individualism > Nationalism > Globalism

Since Trump is a Nationalist, real libertarians know that Trump is preferable to 100% of Democrats/Progressives/Communists and 99% of Republicans.

You could break down the preference even further. Ask yourself, what is the most powerful form of government?

Individual > Family Unit > Local Government > County Gov > State > National (Federal) > Global

For this arrangement to work, the invididual must also adhere to the other libertarian principles which I won't go over here. Search non-aggression principle if you're curious.
