If you watch the "shoot me nigga" videos, there were several armed people on the BLM side who were armed, and one who even chambered a round in an obviously aggressive deadly threat way.
Kyle was also being chased by a mob (not just 1 person) at the time he fired the first shot. I think most people so far have glossed over that fact, since it's mentioned somewhat off-hand, but it is part of witness testimony.
Personally, I strongly suspect the mob that attacked Kyle during the 2nd and 3rd shooting was mostly made up of people who were chasing Kyle around the time of the parking lot shooting.
