If I think back on how the Alt Right was demonized for being permissive until they convert to Democrat. I think Dems will go 10x harder on what they deem a direct "poaching" on their voter "turf".

He's not middle. He's just left of his dad. Although Ron Paul's voting record was not as good as his rhetoric. Rand seems to be pretty close libertarian but also under stands how far you can reach. You can't say no to everything but you can't say yes either
He isn’t “middle of the road”.
He’s for individual liberty and only supports policy that does the same.
I dont understand. What does demonized for being permissive mean? Do you mean that the alt right was poaching possible dem voters?
It sounds like an interesting idea, I just dont understand.
