I hate leftists that think only Americans are opposing covid restrictions and everyone in the world is doing what the gov says. Bunch of fucking fantasy retards
Think about John Oliver or Trevor Noah. It's like some kind of cuck fetish to have a foreigner with an accent constantly tell you that your country is bad.
Journalists really aren’t even needed anymore. Any time there’s a major event you can just go on social media and find multiple people with videos/accounts of what happened. I don’t know anybody who regularly watches tv cable news anymore. Who is funding these networks?...
Well, I agree for the notion of the big-name bought and paid for types like the legacy media. I think snuffing out the notion of journalism completely would either put dissemination of information into the hands of the government (very bad) or would make it a giant game of telephone, like it practically is now seeing as we have to learn about shit from word of mouth and video recordings over what these news anchors tell us - better but not ideal.
The Washington Post's motto, as much as I hate them: "Democracy Dies in Darkness." is actually pretty legit when you think about it. Problem is WaPo and all of these other big media outlets are utterly compromised.
So no, eliminating the profession of journalism is silly. Free people have a right to unbiased and objective information, our journalistic institutions are failing us at providing that. We need to fix journalism and bring back its integrity, and there are plenty of small, independent journalists and organizations trying to do just that.

I love it when leftists say that. Who gives a damn if “nobody respects us”? Who the hell cares?

Yup.
